This monthly series compares the aligned sales of the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox 360 in Japan, as well as looking at lifetime original Xbox sales and Xbox One sales.
The Xbox Series X|S launched in Japan in November 2020, while the Xbox 360 launched in Japan in December 2005. The original Xbox launched in Japan in February 2002 and the Xbox One in September 2014.

October 2022 is the 24th month the Xbox Series X|S has been available for in Japan. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the Xbox Series 360 when compared to the aligned launch of the Xbox Series X|S by 25m176 units.
In the last 12 months, the Xbox 360 has grown its lead over the Xbox Series X|S by 51,724 units. The Xbox 360 is currently ahead by 123,455 units.
The Xbox Series X|S has sold 378,954 units in 24 months, while the Xbox 360 sold 502,409 units. Month 24 for the Xbox Series X|S is October 2022 and for the Xbox 360 is November 2007.
The Xbox 360 crossed one million units in month 40 and 1.5 million units in month 67. The Xbox 360 sold 1.66 million units lifetime.

Dang if only starfield was out now . Xbox series would of stayed ahead of the 360 or at least kept up. I think halo 3 was coming out during this time frame
You really think Starfield is going to move the needle that much in Japan? There's a cult following for western-style RPGs there, but I didn't think they were mass market sellers.
I’m basing this on sales of other best hit titles like fallout 4 ,elder scrolls,. Elder scrolls did outsell halo 3
Fair enough then. You could well be right! It might be a "killer app" for Game Pass in Asia, actually. If you're curious about the game you don't need to buy the game and the console, you could buy the Series S and a month of Game Pass, and see how it goes. A very low barrier to entry.
No need I got a gaming rig so I use the gamepass for pc. But with that new price drop I may just buy a series s .250$ Definitely a low entry point

I’m going to say it will help but no starfield won’t make a huge impact with just Japan. I’m basing this on elder scrolls and fallout 4 sales in Japan for ps3/ps4 at the time 75k for elder scrolls in 2011 and over 120k for fallout 4 debut .
The 360 just postpone the inevitable at this point ..
The XBSX will come as a storm and blast through it in the next months and quorters.
As we already saw, when there is a stock XBSX don't have trouble to reach 50k monthly and I bet even more.
