Here is an overview of the game:

Samurai Shodown has enjoyed worldwide success as a blade-wielding fighting game series since its first release in 1993. Over 10 years have passed since the last series installment, and it is now time for Samurai Shodown to return in a brand-new game featuring high-end visuals and gameplay! With its story set one year before the very first installment, warriors and combatants from various backgrounds and with their own goals are about to battle to fulfill their destinies!

Carrying on the Legacy

Faithfully reproducing the game mechanics and atmosphere that contributed to the success of the series, the new game aims to bring the same tense and exhilarating battles that the series is known for. Intense and epic battles are back!

Evolving the Presentation

Using the power of Unreal Engine 4, the series is able to achieve a level of detail never before seen for a totally new visual experience!

I do believe this is the first fighting game announced for Xbox Series. We haven't had any other announcements of next-gen updates or ports for current gen fighting games like Tekken 7, Dead or Alive 6, SoulCalibur 6, or Mortal Combat 11 yet.

Guilty Gear 5 has already been announced for PS5. Also, not heard of any graphical upgrades for the games listed but not sure if they are too old to bother.

I'm sorry, completely misread your comment, downvote myself :P Are any fighters (other than Virtua Fighter) actually announced to be in dev at the moment anyway?

Just Guilty Gear Strive and Virtua Fighter I think. We know Street Fighter 6 is in development based on a reliable leaker, but got delayed to 2022 due to development issues, with Yoshinori Ono leaving Capcom as a result of those issues Same leaker also said that Marvel vs Capcom 4 is in development, but it's supposedly 2022 as well I think. No news from Namco Bandai yet about if we will be getting Tekken 8 or Tekken Tag Tournament 3 or anything like that soon, same goes for SoulCalbur. Koei Tecmo suspiciously ended support for DoA 6 only about a year after it released, which lead some to believe they are planning to release a DoA 6 Last Round on PS5 and Xbox Series with plans to support with more DLC, but those are just rumors for now. No news from NetherRealm about rather we're getting a new Injustice or Mortal Kombat soon.

I don't think this is a port we needed. Doesen't look like its benefitting much.
