Halo Veteran Joseph Staten Joins 343 Industries in a Top Leadership Role to Work on Halo Infinite - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 01 September 2020 / 2,576 ViewsEarlier this month publisher Microsoft and developer 343 Industries announced the decision to delay Halo Infinite from launching alongside the Xbox Series X in November 2020 to sometime in 2021. The game was delayed to ensure it will be the best it can possibly be.
Bloomberg is now reporting Microsoft has brought on Halo veteran Joseph Staten to take a leadership role at 343 Industries to help work on Halo Infinite. This is according to four sources who have remained anonymous as the announcement won't be made until Thursday at the earliest.
Staten starting working at Bungie in the 1990's and was responsible for writing, editing, and directing cutscenes on the original Halo trilogy. He stayed with Bungie after they split with Microsoft, but left in 2013 and rejoined Microsoft in 2014 to work on non-Halo games.

Microsoft also plans to shift one more senior leader to work on Halo Infinite who will help provide more expertise, according to two of the sources.
Joseph Staten and the other senior leader will work with 343 Industries studio head Chris Less and report to Microsoft vice president Bonnie Ross, who oversees the developer.

The game is supposed to live for a decade. We don't know whether these people are being brought on to "fix" the game as it currently exists, or to work on content for further down the road. Presumably, they'll be bringing in new people for this game for years to come.
Excuse me, you’re interrupting our shit posting with your well thought out and logical post.
With the open nature of the game, it's likely that he's being brought in to provide more classic Halo style missions, along with touch up elements of the story they aren't happy with. I wouldn't assumer overhaul at this point.
This is good news, but at the same time it makes me think that 343 do not have any idea what they are doing. Sounds like Halo is in a bad spot right now.
Especially after 5 years in development. Yikes.
Yes, I keep telling this, yet many people downvote me every time, thinking that I am doing this because I hate the series. I don't. It's pretty obvious that the franchise has lost its direction ever since Bungie departed.
So in other words, the are restarting development of the game
probably not all of it, but drastic changes to story, and were its heading. This would normally mean longer developement, all those people saying it wouldnt be delayed beyound 2021, might be proven wrong.
Why bring in a story writer, unless your not happy with the current one and want to change it?
Once you start moveing around story, change locations, redo cutscenes.... that adds time to developement surely?
