Destiny 2 Headed to PS5 and Xbox Series X, to Support Free Upgrades - News

Bungie today laid out their future plans for Destiny 2 with the announcement of three new expansions for release in 2020, 2021, and 2022. The Beyond Light expansion will launch in 2020, The Witch Queen will launch in 2021, and Lightfall will launch in 2022. They also shot down a Destiny 3 as their main focus is on the current title.
Bungie has now announced Destiny 2 will be coming to the next generation consoles, the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series X version of the game will support Smart Delivery, which means if you own the Xbox One version of the game you will get the Xbox Series X version for free. The developer also revealed the owners of the PlayStation 4 version will get the PlayStation 5 version for free.
Destiny 2 will run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on the Xbox Series X and PS5. More information on the next generation release, including a release date, will be announced soon.
"Destiny 2 will also be coming to both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X next-generation consoles," said Bungie. "In addition, purchases of Destiny 2: Beyond Light on Xbox One will transfer to Xbox Series X for free via Smart Delivery. Purchases on PlayStation 4 will upgrade to PlayStation 5 for free. More details on this Destiny 2 for next generation will be announced in the coming months."
Destiny 2 is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
