Rumor: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Headed to Switch - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 14 May 2020 / 3,317 ViewsPikmin 3 will be getting a release on the Nintendo Switch as Pikmin 3 Deluxe, according to a report from VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb. The game originally launched for the Wii U in August 2013.
"But Nintendo obviously has games in the works. Intelligent Systems only oversaw Tecmo Koei’s production of Fire Emblem: Three Houses because it was working on this," said Grubb in his report on the Paper Mario: The Origami King announcement. "Other Nintendo studios will have games ready for release soon, as well. That includes the 3D Mario remasters, but it should also include Pikmin 3 Deluxe."
This should be treated as a rumor until an official announcement is made.

Here is an overview of the Wii U version of Pikmin 3:
Explore an Alien World in a Game Like No Other
In the Pikmin 3 game, players take command of three explorers and a legion of adorable Pikmin in a fight for survival. By employing the unique abilities of these tiny Pikmin creatures, players will solve puzzles, battle dangerous predators and recover food needed to save the explorers’ depleted home planet.
Key Features:
- Discover the charming personalities of the plant-like Pikmin creatures as they come to life in multiple shapes and sizes. Five different Pikmin types, including new Rock Pikmin and Winged Pikmin, each offer unique abilities. Rock Pikmin are sturdy creatures who can be tossed at solid objects to break them down. Winged Pikmin have the ability to fly and can carry objects in the air.
- Divide and conquer! Split your Pikmin squads among the three explorers to maximize your strategy.
- Use the Wii U GamePad controller as an in-game camera to capture the alien-safari environment from a pint-sized perspective. Snap and caption photos, then share them via Miiverse.
- Show off your skills in a variety of modes or challenge a friend in the wild and frenetic multiplayer battle mode. (Additional accessories are required for multiplayer mode and are sold separately.)
- The intuitive controls of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers make it easy to lead your explorers and pinpoint the location where you want to throw Pikmin.
- The game can also be played off the television using only the Wii U GamePad.
- Intense new challenges come to Pikmin 3 in downloadable stages! The new “Collect Treasure!” downloadable content pack for Pikmin 3 adds five remixed stages to Mission Mode. The first stage is available free of charge and is included as part of a software patch.

they need to add more than a side story, wasn't 4 already in development for the last 5 years or so?
The only exclusive Wii U games that would be left that have a legitimate chance are: Xenoblade Chronicles, the Zelda Remakes, MAYBEE Wii Sports Club(But Highly Doubt it)
Games like Kirby & The Rainbow Curse, Nintendo Land, Star Fox Zero, Wii Party U I feel like are too gamepad centric to work around, and even if Nintendo could work around them to work on Switch. I don't think Nintendo or anyone really still cares about those games enough for Nintendo to want to use their time and resources as all those games for the most part likely did underwhelming.
I didn't realize Koei Tecmo was the lead developer for Three Houses and Intelligent Systems oversaw development while they were focusing on this game. That means they're probably working on at least one other project.
If this is true, than Xenoblade Chronicles X and Wonderful 101 are all the Wii U will have left.
The Wonderfull 101 is already out for the Switch
Well, damn, now XCX is all that's left!
And Nintendoland.
Nobody cares about Nintendoland. WW HD on the other hand...
Nintendoland was amazing as far as mingame collections go. Really creative ideas, and great fun for multiplayer with casual friends.
It would be nice to give another chance for NintendoLand as a deluxe edition. I can see a lot of potential there. Clubhouse, Mario party and NintendoLand and you have a nice combo for couch multiplayer

If I remember right, the game used the Wii U gamepad pretty good. Hopefully they offer a better solution for the Switch Pro Controller than in Captain Toad.
Based on other "Deluxe" Wii U games on Switch, the added content won't be that impressive. Expanded Challenges and/or Multiplayer or a new difficulty setting seems most likely.
I was expecting Pikmin 3 on Switch first before TMS#FE.
There is also XCX for next year so there is a gap between the remake.
Pikmin 4 better
I wonder what they would do to make it a "deluxe" experience. Perhaps they can add a side-story where you get to play as Olimar and Louie after you complete the game; however with Nintendo being the makers of New Super Mario Bros U "Deluxe" they'll probably just release the same game, minus a few things haha.
Youtuber Arlo is probably psyched right now.
