Microsoft has announced the Xbox Live Games with Gold for April 2018. Two Xbox One games and two Xbox 360 games will be free to download next month, and all of the Xbox 360 games are playable on Xbox One.

The Games with Gold for April are:

  • The Witness ($39.99 ERP): Available April 1 to April 30, 2018 on Xbox One
  • Assassin’s Creed Syndicate ($49.99 ERP): Available April 16 to May 15, 2018 on Xbox One
  • Cars 2: The Video Game ($19.99 ERP): Available April 1 to April 15, 2018 on Xbox One and Xbox 360
  • Dead Space 2 ($19.99 ERP): Available April 16 to April 30, 2018 on Xbox One and Xbox 360

Here is an overview of each game:

The Witness
You awake on an island with no idea where or who you are. Over 500 puzzles lay before you as you slowly regain your memories piece by piece in the hopes of finding your way off this mysterious, gorgeous island in this challenging open-world puzzler that has been described by admirers as beautiful, challenging, and a puzzler’s paradise.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
The Industrial Revolution in London provides the backdrop in this epic chapter of the Assassin’s Creed series, as you play as siblings endeavoring to retake the city back from the Templars. With new fighting mechanics, extraordinary tools, and new modes of transport, build your gang and fight to bring justice and the rule of law back to your home city.

Cars 2: The Video Game
Become the fastest racecar in the world. Play as Mater, Lightning McQueen, or other favorites as you take on dangerous missions, action-packed challenges, and race against friends in this high-speed adventure inspired by the film “Cars 2.”

Dead Space 2
Return as Isaac Clarke in the terrifying sequel to the classic Dead Space. This time you’ll find yourself on The Sprawl, an epic space city that has fallen under attack. Fight mysterious government operators and the deadly Necromorph with a variety of tools and customized weapons, trying to piece together what has transpired from the first game while recovering from the ill effects of your recent coma.

Great month for live gold. Previous PS+ month was absolutely killer, but this lineup for Gold is also very very good.

In terms of current gen games, PS+ and GwG offerings where very on par this month, imo.

Nice, very strong month. I felt AC:Syndicate was actually one of the best in the series. Everything is good this month, even Cars 2 is a solid racer.

Pretty good month even though I already own Dead Space 2. The Witness is decent and I'm looking forward to AC: Syndicate came close to buying it a couple of times when it was on sale digitally.

Wow this is a great month. I honestly never feel like I've wasted a dime with Gold.

I keep partially downloading all these good games so they're there when I want them but, because they're just digital games, I never even remember that I OWN them. They just sit there like my Steam games. It's like, if I don't own them physically, I don't even care. It's illogical but true.

I feel the same way, glad to have them, but I almost never play anything from Plus/Gold.

As far as free games go, Microsoft is doing a much better job.

Last month PS+ was killer and this is the response, competition is good.
