PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Japan Lifetime Sales – July 2016 Update - Sales

Welcome to the latest edition of the ‘PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U Japan’ article. This series compares the monthly and lifetime sales of the 8th generation of home consoles - the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.
Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Wii U in Japan for July shows how quickly the PlayStation 4 has been catching up to the Wii U in 2016. The gap is now just over 200,000 units.
The PlayStation 4 passed the three million mark. The Wii U has sold 3.23 million units lifetime, the PlayStation 3.02 million units, and the Xbox One 67,838 units.
Taking a look at the marketshare, the Wii U has a 51 percent market share, the PlayStation 4 sits at 48 percent, and the Xbox One just one percent.
Wii U Total Sales: 3,227,932
PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 3,019,082
Xbox One Total Sales: 67,838
The PlayStation 4 outsold the Wii U for a seventh straight month. The PlayStation 4 outsold the Wii U by 48,842 units and the Xbox One by 82,849 units. The Wii U outsold the Xbox One by 34,007.
When you compare monthly sales to a year ago the PlayStation 4 is up, while the Wii U and Xbox One are down. The PlayStation 4 is up 12,406 units, the Wii U is down 11,600 units, and the Xbox One is down 418.
Looking at market share for the month, the PlayStation 4 managed to achieve 70 percent. The Wii U accounted for 29 percent of the consoles sold, and the Xbox One accounted for one percent.

I give it till the end of 2016 until the PS4 surpasses the Wii-U, especially with Final Fantasy XV and the awesome LE console they're making with it.
X1, with that world domination, lol. Actually it's sad to see numbers that low, for any system. Not really sure, why they are even trying, in Japan. Japan supports Japan.
Because it would be bad for Microsoft to purchase the exclusivity of a Japanese game without even selling their console on Japan. The developers would not accept that.
