Quantum Break is the 'Biggest Selling, New Microsoft Studios IP This Generation' - News

by William D'Angelo , posted on 11 April 2016 / 7,065 Views

A Microsoft spokesperson has told IGN that Quantum Break had the biggest opening week for a new Microsoft IP on the Xbox One.

That would put sales above other new Xbox One IPs like Sunset Overdrive and Ryse: Son of Rome.

"We are excited to announce that Quantum Break is now the biggest selling, new Microsoft Studios IP this generation," said the Microsoft spokesperson.

I think its safe to assume it did 300-400k on the XB1 FW (including digital). Not the greatest figures, but still impressive. Great job Remedy!

It most definitely could have been worse IMO. I have a feeling the somewhat lower then expected scores potentially took away its capability to launch with 500k+, but never the less, if the legs hold up, this could prove to be a profitable venture in the long run.

So 250k minimum opening week? Not a bad minimum. Can't wait for numbers.

Don't forget digital as well.

Good, hopefully other new MS IPs like Sea of Thieves sell very well

Are there any other ones? ...Does this mean they're counting Sunset Overdrive?

No. There are no other new IP's. Quantum Break is the best selling new MS IP by default.

This game also only sold 6 copies. So it's a very hollow victory. Typical Microsoft spin. Pathetic.

^^This game sold 6 copies? Are we living in the same universe?

@COKTOE - I think they were referring to MS published games in general. So that's Quantum Break, Ryse, and Sunset Overdrive. Its unlikely Recore or Scalebound will break the first week sales record.

Serious question: new Microsoft Studios IP is a very specific distinction that should not by logic include IP owned by someone else. We can't invent new meaning to words.

I love how qualified that statement is;D
Not the best selling IP.
Not the best selling Microsoft Studios IP.
Not even the best selling 'new' Microsoft Studios IP.
But the best selling - new - Microsoft Studios IP - of this [very young] generation.

"Very young generation"? It's pass 3 years and it's already half way into the generation, fail.
