Welcome to the latest edition of the ‘PS4 vs Xbox One vs Wii U USA’ article. This series compares the monthly and lifetime sales of the 8th generation of home consoles - the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U.

Looking at the total sales of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U in the US in November we can see how close the race continues to be between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the gap has now grown to more than one million units in favor of the PlayStation 4 for the first time since October 2014.

The PlayStation 4 crossed the 10 million mark and the Xbox One passed the nine million mark in the last month. The PS4 has sold 10.95 million units lifetime in the US, the Xbox One 9.80 million units, and the Wii U 4.73 million units.

The PlayStation 4 has 43 percent current generation console market share in the US, the Xbox One sits at 38 percent, and the Wii U 19 percent.

PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 10,947,901

Xbox One Total Sales: 9,798,218

Wii U Total Sales: 4,726,766

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have both outsold the Wii U every month in the US since they released in November 2013. After being outsold last month, the PlayStation 4 outsold the Xbox One in November. The PlayStation 4 outsold the Xbox One by 243,804 units for the month and the Wii U by 1,265,304. The Xbox One outsold the Wii U by 1,021,500 units.

When you compare monthly sales to a year ago the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are both up while the Wii U is down. The PlayStation 4 is up 663,963 units, the Xbox One is up 19,853 units, and the Wii U is down 9,372 units.

Looking at current generation console market share for the month of November, the PlayStation 4 managed to achieve 49 percent. The Xbox One accounted for 42 percent of current generation consoles sold, and the Wii U a modest nine percent.

PlayStation 4 Monthly Sales: 1,538,112

This is very interesting, even tho the Xbox One has "the best lineup in the history" yet the ps4 outsold the xbox one in america despite the fact "Sony admit this year they has weak 1st party lineup".
Next year will be interesting as Blockbuster exclusives like Uncharted 4, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Last Guardian, Ratchet & Clank drop in + console exclusives such as No Man's Sky and Street Fighter V.
Not to mention of Kingdom Heart III and Final Fantasy XV where they have a strong bond with the PS Platform.

Yes, Despite not Being Exclusive over 80-85% of the Sales of Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts, will be on Playstation, like the Majority of Metal Gear Solid Sales were on Playstation 4 (and this game had Guns) In terms of Sales this 2 Titles Sell Consoles Like Exclusives for Sony.

Funny the Xbox outsold the PS4 LAST holiday season, but not this one. Halo 5 and Tomb Raider didn't boost sales much.

US only for Xbox, dismal for the rest of the world.

Seems like the Xbox One runs realy badly outside of US and UK. If you compare 9,7 M (US) to 17,8 M (Wordwide), this means MS could sell only 8,7 M in the rest of the world. This is les than in the US and those 8,7 M include already UK, if you subtract the UK sale numbers it gets even whorse.

On the other hand the PS4 sold 10,9 M in US and over 21M in the rest of the wolrd. This is nearly 2,5 times more as MS. Conclusion: The battel for US (and UK maybe) is realy close and Sony is leading only by a smal margin. But in the rest of the word the PS4 is dominating and MS lost the war already.

Here in the Netherlands the prices are crazy right now, ps4 is 289, xbox one plus one free game of choice is 245 and the Wii U with a game is 299, won't see that wii u number go up much if the prices don't change and altough xbox is a great deal, not many people seem to buy it, even many of the games are cheaper, like fallout is 42 euro's cheapest on xbox and 49 on ps4 but only the ps4 version seems to sell, weird generation but #omg #Ps4 #sales
