The Witcher 3 Sells Four Million Units in Two Weeks - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 09 June 2015 / 4,348 ViewsTwo weeks after its launch on May 19th, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has managed to reach 4 million units sold across the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, making it one of the best openings of the generation so far.

CD Projekt RED's co-founder, Marcin Iwinski, has thanked the fans for their support:
"Since day one, you have given us tons of positive feedback and support -- the sheer volume of emails we’ve gotten since launch simply congratulating us for our efforts is both epic and heartwarming, and I wish every developer comes to have such a fantastic community. In terms of media reception, we’re really humbled by the scores the game has received all around the world. With an average of 90+ on every platform, Wild Hunt is our dream coming true.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the four million gamers worldwide who bought The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the first two weeks from launch. Four million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is! Until then, keep on enjoying Wild Hunt, do not forget to grab your weekly set of free DLCs, and stay tuned for constant updates and enhancement to the game we are continuously working on."

Deserved, and it litterally crush my prediction...
Well deserved.
Wow! I had no idea it was going to do so well!
Well deserved. Best game of the gen so far.
While I am slightly disappointed that Andrzej Sapkowski decided to end Ciris and Geralts story on a video game, it has been an absolute pleasure to play through (not finished it yet). well deserved.
He did not decide anything. Sapkowski only sold rights to CDPR that allows them create other works of fiction (basically anything except books) based on the "Wiedźmin" universe. CDPR even trademarked the english translation of "wiedźmin" - "witcher", so that doesn't even belong to Sapkowski, but to them.
As far as Sapkowski is concerned (and he has voiced his opinion on the subject), CDPR's games are fan fiction, and book fans should not treat them as continuation to his novels. He acknowledges that CDPR has created a wonderful series of games based on his IP, but he himself does not play games, and he bases that opinion on other people's reviews.
Those words even angered a lot of games fans, who saw them as a manifestatation of jeleausy on Mr. Sapkowski's part. As far as I think, he has the right the think whatever he wants about his creation and other people's take on it.
But no, the book series canonically ended on The Lady of the Lake, as far as Sapkowski is concerned.
Never thought it would sell this fast, well deserved.
