Disney Interactive has announced a round of layoffs at its Club Penguin studio. Employees have been let go in the Los Angeles studio, the Brighton studio, and the Kelowna studio.

Sources have stated that 30 people were let go in the Kelowna studio last Thursday and even more were let go in the Los Angeles studio. The sources also state that the Brighton studio has been shut down.

"Disney Interactive continually looks to find ways to create efficiencies and streamline our operations," said a Disney Interactive spokesperson. "As part of this ongoing process, we are consolidating a small number of teams and are undergoing a targeted reduction in workforce."

Disney are just awful at game development these days, you always hear of them buying then shuttering studios or downsizing the few studios that they actually still have. Warner are leagues ahead of them right now.
