E3 Hands-On: Hunted: The Demon's Forge - Preview

At the beginning of each level you can choose between one of two characters: a female character who is specialized in ranged and a male character who is better at melee. Each character can be leveled up and gain skills such as ice arrows and stronger spells.
Cooperation is key as you'll be able to buff your partner but not yourself and survival will depend upon good communication so that neither of you has your weaknesses exploited. A Gears of War like cover system helps to give you more of a chance against the incoming hoards but most of the enemies carry melee weapons so you can't just hide in the same place forever.

It seems that the main characters will also be able to talk to and get quests from dead bodies strewn around the environment which was touted as a good way to have quest giving NPC's without a live person standing in an area where it would make no sense, but I was not directly shown this mechanic during the demo. Another point of interest is that the only enemies I faced were a sea of skeletons and I wonder if these are the most common enemy type in the game or it was just the area the demo was in.
Hunted: The Demon's Forge is shaping up to be pretty fun and if you have been clamoring for something similar to Army of Two outside of the shooter genre you should definitely look into Bethesda's latest.
