When playing on the easy difficulty, if you lose on any level other than the final 2 levels, the teams head person will appear at the bottom of the screen and say something, and bring your life to about halfway and throw you right back to where you had originally lost, and continue playing.

*cough* I don't think people should mess with the formula if it's this awesome. I don't really think it needs more than new songs. Osu! lol :3

I hear the sales are high because of popular songs used in this version. I imported this, and I only dislike one or two songs. The rest are pretty stellar. However, gameplay is still too similar to Elite Beat Agents 1 - it needed something brand new to mix things up a bit more for a sequel.
