Extra Lives
If you're down to one or two lives, press X from the Statistics screen to return to the Main Menu. Leave the game in the Main Menu and allow the credits and high scores to be displayed. Let the demo mode start and cycle several times. (Note: this may take 15-30 minutes.)

Save the game and start a mission. The game will continue with a few more lives. Use this procedure with caution, as your ship's engine, shields, control, and laser strength may be changed after the additional lives are added
