@Mr Puggsly - the game wasn't widely
bundled, you have to remember at the
time, there wasn't any racing games on
any other platform that delivered a
scale of visuals and content that GT3
did.

Coupled with the fact that it
was one of the earliest PS2 games to go
Greatest Hits/Platinum, it was a
no-brainer for the best selling PS2 game
until San Andreas, notice it's also the
only GT game where the US has the
biggest sales numbers by a heavy
margin.

I do agree that Halo has a
bigger core market, just GT in general
is more of a something for everyone IP.

@ Puggs: Halo 3 had a good lot of
bundles. I just don't think, at that
time, that a Halo game could have ever
taken a GT game. These days, who knows,
but GT5 is only a little over a million
behind Halo 3 and both have had their
share of bundles. In the end, GT5 could
even, potentially, outsell it.

Beast game, best race game ever made.
Thank you Polyphony.

@ kyuu - Halo can achieve these numbers
with the same massive bundling.
