Game Overview

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a turn-based strategy game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS. The game is a re-imagining of the classic PC strategy game, UFO: Enemy Unknown, that introduces a new story and gameplay.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown puts the player in control of an elite multinational military organisation called XCOM, which is tasked with defending the Earth against an alien incursion. The player commands troops in the field in a series of turn-based tactics missions and carries out the research and development of new technologies based on captured alien technology.

@thewastedyouth Because it was a halo
game, that alone would attract those who
generally don't play strategy games.
Most console gamers seem to go for
shooters and action games, games like
this generally find a much bigger market
on the PC.

@ thewastedyouth - Ouch, flop territory.
I thought the critical acclaim would
give this game some decent sales.

haven't played it yet. Doesn't sound
like my type of game. But I'm gonna
give it a try regardless when I can grab
it for $20.

ok wtf, why did Halo Wars sell like 2
million and this hasn't!!!

So glad the console version got great
reviews. I was worried that something
might be lost converting to console
controls. So looking forward to playing
this I hope this has legs like a
supermodel. Almost as excited by this as
valkyria chronicles before I bought it.
Best game of the generation came at the
start, maybe second best game will come
at the end.
