As you guide your ship, Platypus, on this side-scrolling adventure, you can play in either single-player or multiplayer game modes.

In singple-player games, you can play in either Story Mode or Survival Mode. Story Mode spans six areas, each containing enemies and Boss units out to destroy the peaceful country of Mungola. In Survival Mode, you have only one ship, and you must survive as long as possible. If you want to play in multiplayer mode, you can host your own two-player game or search for an existing one.

To help you survive in Platypus, thereare six different power-ups for your ship. Weapon power-ups are awarded for destroying specific formations of gold-colored fighters. Once collected, a timer will appear in the top-left corner, counting down the remaining seconds until the power-ups also appear in the form of crates hanging from balloons--destroy the crates and catch the power-ups contained within.

Platypus supports Wi-Fi functionality. Ad Hoc Mode is a Wi-Fi feature that allows two or more individual PSP systems to communicated directly with one another.
