I actually really like this one,the story was good (im not picky), I liked the battle systems and the quest were pretty fun...8/10 IMOP
Arfen (on 11 July 2011)
i picked this today for 13'50€
Blood_Tears (on 21 May 2010)
Just picked it up for $39.99 at Futureshop.
Tayne (on 02 May 2010)
Still waiting on that price drop....
DivinityFire (on 18 April 2010)
I want this game, but it's still $60 6 months later. Hoping it would go down fast like Infinite Undiscovery did.
Bagaren85 (on 24 March 2010)
Yes, it was good. Nothing outstanding but way better than i tought.
Altitude (on 26 February 2010)
I am really enjoying this game. It's way better than people are making it out to be.
d21lewis (on 25 January 2010)
Was I naughty? I'm on disc 2 and one of my characters just disappeared. We were in the middle of a quest and now there's only two of us. I've gone as far as to save and turn off the console. She's still gone! I'm not sure I can beat this game with just two playable characters at a time.

Too bad. I was loving this game. Now I guess I have to use an old save from hours and hours ago and hope it doesn't glitch again.

Lesson: SAVE OFTEN on multiple slots.
Swordy (on 22 January 2010)
Very underrated game, it's actually really solid, especially the battle system is fun.
Bagaren85 (on 30 December 2009)
I need it now, looks very interesting
d21lewis (on 26 December 2009)
Not an epic game, but I'm enjoying it so far.
mibuokami (on 05 December 2009)
I'll be honest, I bought this game purely base on the fact that it's character design if by Hyung-tae Kim. It's certainly not a bad game, but I'll would probably have ignore it until it went to the budget bin if not for Mr. Kim's contribution.
IxisNaugus (on 01 December 2009)
This game is really interesting me, if only for that sexy girl on the box art. Is there any chance of the first Magna Carta being ported to the X360 or something? Otherwise i can't get it (don't have a PS2 anymore) and i dislike missing games in a series :/
Zucas (on 30 November 2009)
monsta- yea I missed 2 quests and didn't get the achievement because of it.

But was definitely a fun game but had issues. I think too many people were too quick to judge this game just because it didn't do too much different. While it isn't unique or innovative at all, it didn't mean it wasn't good.

But people pick and choose which games they nag on depending on whether it is innovative or not. So do reviewers. For me, if the game is solid, then that is all I need to know and this was a solid game.
Bagaren85 (on 19 November 2009)
Good legs in NA even if its little to low
tphi (on 17 November 2009)
At least, it sell a bit more than eternal sonata, which is more than deserved...

Hold on Nanco, still make good JRPG as magnacarta 2!
Nightwish224 (on 12 November 2009)
I hate to see the poor sales. I want this game, yet I'll wait for the price drop. Poor sales will hopefully bring the nice price tag for me :)
MonstaMack (on 09 November 2009)
@Zucas Hey! Same here about 41+ish hours in and I'm at the final boss. I forgot to *ahem* stock up on items though so I had to backtrack all the way out (yikes). Very suprised at how good this JRPG was on the 360, a solid effort for sure.

My only two gripes were 1) Way too easy outside of a few parts. I breezed through the first 20+ hours of this game without have anyone die. 2) I somehow missed a quest and lost the achievement. I have no idea how that happened but it did lol.

I'd give this a high 7 or a solid 8. I think I'll give it a solid 8 just because It's infinitely better then the MC on the PS2.
dobby985 (on 08 November 2009)
@tphi
ofc MS paid for it and Namco aren't exactly going to admit it in public are they?
dobby985 (on 08 November 2009)
It's about a cliché as jrpgs get
Zucas (on 03 November 2009)
Just beat this game today. I must say I didn't expect too much from this game to begin with but I really did enjoy my 41 hours of this game haha. Was quite enjoyable and a fun experience. Not the greatest RPG ever haha but definitely a solid one.
Abberon (on 02 November 2009)
I can't believe they made a second game. The first was one of the worst RPG's I ever played on PS2 and the reviews are saying this one is no better.
Kasersky (on 02 November 2009)
They really botched the marketing for this game especially in non japan territories.
Bagaren85 (on 30 October 2009)
Higher second week in Others shows that shipment is high limited. :(

Zucas (on 30 October 2009)
Yes I'm enjoying the story as well. I'm 28 hours in right now. It's not a great JRPG by any standards but I'm still having a lot of fun with it and that's all that matters. As for chain breaks, already got the 500 achievement for them haha. Love doing those things.
loves2splooge (on 29 October 2009)
Banpresto is the original publisher of the title (in Japan). And Banpresto is owned by Namco Bandai. So Namco Bandai pretty much owns the rights to this.

Honestly I don't think they are going to bother porting this after the lackluster sales of Eternal Sonata's PS3 port. They ported Eternal Sonata to the PS3 because the 360 sales were poor but the PS3 version ended up selling even less anyway. Magnacarta II's sales in the first two weeks have been comparable to Eternal Sonata (just a little bit better though). After seeing the results of the PS3 port for Eternal Sonata, I don't think Namco Bandai is even going to bother with a port. The costs of porting to the PS3 (especially a Unreal Engine 3.0 game) are probably going to cost more than the potential revenue it would generate for the company.
Naum (on 29 October 2009)
Finally near the end I'm starting to get the "hang" on Chains... still have problem with the dual chain attack or wathever they call it.
Aghahowa (on 28 October 2009)
After about 25 hours playtime i have to say, this game has the best and most suprising story from all jrpgs on Xbox360.

The complete package doesnt reach the same quality as LO, but for me its the best JRPG after LO.

ToV was good too, but i didnt like the story, boring.
I LOVE GIGGS (on 27 October 2009)
After Playing more than 10 hours, I think this game is the Best X360 JRPG after ToV and LO.
coolbeans (on 26 October 2009)
Meh, I'll just stick to Lost Odyssey. Looks like a solid game, though.
Boneitis (on 26 October 2009)
Even if the PS3 version would be more expensive to develop its guaranteed to sell more on the PS3.

I'd be surprised if MS wasn't involved somehow.
nofingershaha (on 26 October 2009)
softmax is independent so namco bandai might not have a say in the game's exclusivity.
MonstaMack (on 25 October 2009)
Just picked it up during the Best Buy buy two get one free. Not too bad at all from what I've played so far.
squall747 (on 25 October 2009)
Wow such a good game too. Sad to see it do so poorly.
Aion (on 24 October 2009)
Well they should really have made a demo.
huaxiong90 (on 24 October 2009)
Kind of expected, really.
tphi (on 24 October 2009)
Boneitis : acording to an interview, Softmax said they choose the 360 because it was alot more easy to develop and less expensive. They are a very little developer, so they didn't want to spend alot with a ps3 version.

But, if the game have great legs, and sold at least 20k, maybe they will port it.
Boneitis (on 23 October 2009)
Did MS pay for exclusivity? I doubt Namco would think the 360 was the ideal choice.
areseris (on 23 October 2009)
Guess this will be available for $20-30 by early next year. Amazon might even offer it for that price this holiday through their special deals.
Xen (on 23 October 2009)
What a terrible start.
tphi (on 23 October 2009)
Wahoo, I was FAR below...I predicted 60k first week :(
Hope it will have legs...
heruamon (on 22 October 2009)
Got this thru Gamespy, and I'm digging it...much more than other JRPG-like games...mostly because this doesn't have "that" combat system.
Zucas (on 19 October 2009)
I'm actually enjoying this so far for the most part. Main problem with the game is environmental graphics are terrible. Really needed another 2-3 months of good hard polishing but oh well.

Otherwise story is catching me, decent characters, and great music thus far. Battle system is actually not that bad but not original either. Solid game.
squall747 (on 14 October 2009)
Played it for abit now. And I think it turned out good. Story seems good and will get better. Combat is decent. A nice looking game that runs smooth. Unlike Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery. I like Last remnant but no idea what they were thinking releaseing it with frame rates that poor. Anyways the little side quests on this game are cool and add more play time. A pretty good rpg worth checking out.

@ Fab_GS its real time fighting. But it can give somewhat of a turn based feel b/c if you attack to much you can overheat which puts you in a stun state. However in a party you can swap to another member when you overheat (just make sure to use a special move before so) then swap and special move with them to cancel out the overheat status. Sorry tried to explain it the best I could.
coolbeans (on 14 October 2009)
This timed exclusive business is getting out of hand. While it's not confirmed to be on PS3, it probably will be.
squall747 (on 13 October 2009)
Looks good, it may hit PS3 awhile from now. But not that it matters really. Anyone who owns a 360 can play it now instead of waiting.
tphi (on 11 October 2009)
Week 1 :
USA 60 000
Other 12 000

Life time
Japon 55 000
USA 180 000
Other 35 000

Total lifetime 265 000
I LOVE GIGGS (on 09 October 2009)
My guess:
US 15k / 90k LT
JP 55K LT
Others 7k / 50k LT

Total = 200k
Bagaren85 (on 08 October 2009)
My guess.
US 59k / 164k LT
JP 58-62k LT
Others 26k / 90k LT
Fab_GS (on 08 October 2009)
Is this game turn-based?
MonstaMack (on 30 September 2009)
Now that I see that Bandai Namco logo on the cover I know this will hit the PS3 eventually (especially considering It's roots).

Anyways I see this doing a lot better in the US.
tphi (on 21 September 2009)
Will sale way more in US - I predict aroud 150k for US lifetime
kazu.jp (on 03 September 2009)
>binary solo

This is Korean RPG.

not JRPG
Seinfeld (on 28 August 2009)
I was wondering why the 360 was outselling the PS3 in Japan. This game must be responsible.
ROBOTECHHEAVEN (on 27 August 2009)
cant wait for this game. :)
binary solo (on 20 August 2009)
Oh come on! Even the 360 can muster a decent opening week in Japan for a JRPG, if it appeals to the base. Tales opened on >100K, SO4 grabbed >160K. And both of them generated a serious sales spike. Whatever way you look at it this game has had an underwhelming start (adding it's fairly large 2nd week drop if Famitsu is to be believed). It looks like a quality game that will deserve much better sales than it will get. It'll be the 360's Valkyria Chronicles it seems. If they want to make a profit out of it they might need the help of some other territories: Americas at least seems good for some JRPG love.
invetedlotus123 (on 19 August 2009)
Well, this game probably was pretty economic, should break even with 100k or even less.
coolbeans (on 18 August 2009)
Arsenal, I love you're trying to spin this into saying it's bad when there's only been a week of sales posted (pretty much falls under epic fail). Every company that develops a game loses money, it's called cost. You can garuntee any game selling 35k first week has lost money, it's all about the lifetime sales. If you're going to focus on the first week sales to determine whether or not the game will lose money, I recommend checking out an economics book or two.
vashkey (on 16 August 2009)
Well, I doubt they were expecting much since it was the least popular console in the country and hardly anyone got the original Magna Carta wasn't exactly the best selling RPG for that matter.
arsenal009 (on 15 August 2009)
It's funny how ppl are trying to spin this by saying 35K ain't bad.

If they're losing money, it's bad. And @ 35k first week, u can guarantee this game has lost money for the company.
reaver_x (on 15 August 2009)
well considering how many ppl actually own a 360 over there, these sales arent too bad.
coolbeans (on 14 August 2009)
Wow, 40k ain't that bad first week in Japan considering how few 360's have been sold over there.
Hero_time88 (on 14 August 2009)
Nope, Microsoft paid for it back then in 2005.
penguin (on 14 August 2009)
Looks very good hopefully western release soon.
Rawnchie14 (on 13 August 2009)
@ Skeeuk

It's exclusive to the 360, because I honestly believe the development for games is easier, quicker, and cheaper on the 360. Just seems that way. Which explains the delayed releases for PS3 with some JRPGs
LordMatrix (on 13 August 2009)
Nothing pointless about it being exclusive. Why all the X360 hate recently Skeeuk? Your starting to turn into a troll. I think it will be around 70 thousand or more in japan total but we still have Others and America sales to look forward to. I'm not expecting huge sales on this title but hopefully it will have decent/good sales like most JRPG have so far on X360.
Skeeuk (on 10 August 2009)
35k 1st week.............its another pointless exclusive on the 360 in japan.

i was expecting it to be 70k+ 1st week.

game looks pretty good though.
Seraphic_Sixaxis (on 05 August 2009)
Day 1 Buy for mah 360.
Bagaren85 (on 03 August 2009)
Predict 84k first week in jp.
Dark_Rulez89 (on 16 June 2009)
I' deff gonna check out this game when it arrives to the U.S
piggychan (on 11 June 2009)
I hope they release this in EU this year >.>
Bagaren85 (on 06 June 2009)
Nice E3 videos, looks far better then before. I hold my interest up for MCII.
Lightel0s (on 23 April 2009)
it sounds great, looks great and i have high hopes in this title.
Shadowblind (on 22 April 2009)
Crimson Stigma? Well thats....different.
