Yay 145th million seller!
Fededx (on 17 December 2013)
YES!!! Finally! Million seller! Congrats Capcom!
atma998 (on 02 January 2013)
0.98M. Has not reached the million in 2012 but will surely do in 2013.
Fededx (on 07 July 2012)
Bought it, have to play it yet! But the graphics are amazing! Hope it breaks the million mark soon :)
atma998 (on 11 June 2012)
0.96M. Still a chance to reach one million!
atma998 (on 06 January 2012)
920k. Steady holyday sales will help to push this game to 1 million. Could reach it before year's end.
cromeros (on 30 December 2011)
I am very impressed with the sales, after all over the 800,000 units sold. I hope that Revelations seriously consider the next installment of the series on Nintendo platforms, they are a success... :D

Price drop!! 29'95€, hoe a boost in sales
Arfen (on 02 May 2011)
5k this week!!! c'mon!! i hope it reaches the million mark someday
primogen18 (on 26 February 2011)
black ops sold this on wii in a just few months already, lol. not bad sales anyway for what it is.
atma998 (on 28 January 2011)
Not bad for a rail shooter. In fact it's pretty good. The game is now at 0.76M and still sells over 2k/week during the low season. 1 million is not impossible.
Mr Puggsly (on 16 January 2011)
@ Zechs - I'm very reluctant to say it did well. This is an exclusive Resident Evil game and a quality title yet its struggling to a million. A good chunk of these sales also came after price cuts. I just hope they were able to break even at worst.
ZechsMerquise (on 11 January 2011)
This has done well and will have made money. I think they would have done better if it had got a better reception in the gaming media. I enjoyed it though!
orioncete (on 05 January 2011)
It's a great game IMHO, a bit less content but a lot more quality, had some really good times playing it, especially on co-op
Galvanizer (on 04 January 2011)
Please hit 1 million worldwide!
vitoxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (on 30 December 2010)
of course it is they wanted this number way back it will reach it in 2011 thats bad.
darkgemini (on 26 December 2010)
they wanted 750k... It need some time to reach this number... it´s no flop, but they hoped for better sales...
vitoxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (on 17 December 2010)
well the thing is we dont work for capcom, if they said it flop it flop you guys need to deal with this.
primogen18 (on 17 December 2010)
I meant to list them because they were flops... I am just saying no matter what they should be happy with 700+k because those all did much less then expected and some didn't even reach 500k.
vitoxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (on 16 December 2010)
and you know this how??? capcom said it flop they know better than you ofcourse.
ZechsMerquise (on 16 December 2010)
I think these are good numbers, Capcom will have made money on this, unlike the other games listed by Primogen18 (SSFIV excluded)
vitoxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (on 13 December 2010)
all of those except ssf4 are flops.
primogen18 (on 11 December 2010)
It's also a cold truth that they have had several other "flops" judging by their top selling games list for this week and should be happy with how this has been selling. Dark void? Bionic comander? Lost Planet 2? Super Street Fighter? Okami? MotoGP?
vitoxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (on 10 December 2010)
actually your wrong chrizum, capcom expected this to sell 800k on a time frame it didnt so in there eyes it did flop. thats the cold truth.
Chrizum (on 05 December 2010)
Actually, it will reach 800k this year, and already has passed 800k shipments. Capcom calling this a failure = fail! ;-)
primogen18 (on 05 December 2010)
sure wont have any trouble hitting the 800k capcom wanted it to
Venox2008 (on 03 December 2010)
sometimes is :)
oni-link (on 24 November 2010)
because Capcom is a douce...
DavidValbu (on 18 November 2010)
Why did Capcom call this one a failure? I'll make a new thread hen this one reaches a million to talk about Capcom milstones on the Wii.
Arfen (on 12 November 2010)
this game will reach the million mark someday, and still with a full price. c'mon Capcom this is a failure for you? i think dark void is a faikure not this one
pokeclaudel (on 10 November 2010)
I'm sure they profited but I wished more people got this game it's a good game. I wonder if they'll port these to the ps3
intro94 (on 06 November 2010)
i think capcom got a bit too greedy with their expectations.Sold fairly well and more than a ton of more expensive HD games.
IxisNaugus (on 05 November 2010)
This was a failure according to Capcom
Juma009 (on 05 November 2010)
I'm sure Capcom came out with a profit with this, I mean I doubt they put much into it.
Conegamer (on 05 November 2010)
Perhaps 1mil LT? I hope so!
SaviorX (on 23 October 2010)
So...by April 1st, this game had 600k shipped. Yea, the sales roles for EMEAA and Americas should be somewhat reversed. The breakdown was 150kJP/200k Amer./250k EMEAA. Since Week 16 (Apr. 1st?) it has sold another 200k.
kevinrize (on 27 May 2010)
@chrizum woah 70k undertraked in others,50k overtraked in americas
and 10k undertraked in japan so it should bee 600k
Chrizum (on 24 May 2010)
Game is overtracked in America and undertracked in Others. They should probably be reversed: http://www.examiner.com/x-6894-Video-Game-News-Examiner~y2010m5d10-Sales-results-for-major-Capcom-games-in-Fiscal-Year-2009?cid=exrss-Video-Game-News-Examiner
DrYon (on 11 May 2010)
@GupX19A COD4 says hi!
GupX19A (on 10 May 2010)
Last thing people want is a downgraded HD to Wii port.
DrYon (on 09 May 2010)
Capcom was stupid into keeping this on-rails. Although Umbrella Chronicles got good sales, everyone was expecting a RE4-like game. That's why DC didn't follow the UC sales. Considering how much RE4 sold on Wii, it's illogical not consider to release a Wii version of RE5 or a RE4-like game. Besides of Monster Hunter Tri, Capcom is sounding anti-Wii biased.
KingHenry (on 07 May 2010)
These sales ain't bad. I don't see how this has disappointing sales. Also, i felt that this wasn't a quality game, maybe because i only played like 15 mins of it. I played it with a friend and we were just laughing how bad the game is. It just wasn't exciting.
krammaii (on 07 May 2010)
A few days away from the end of Capcom's fiscal year, and nowhere near 800K... disappointing.
-PaNdOrA- (on 18 April 2010)
This game is way better than UC, yet I had more fun with UC
Does that make sense??
oni-link (on 15 April 2010)
I know it's @540k now 2 days before it's 5 month mark!!!
primogen18 (on 14 April 2010)
this really is showing good sales for still being at full price for a rail shooter. still 49.99 around here anyway.
oni-link (on 12 April 2010)
Like i said before this will MosDef hit at least 800K before it's one year of release. It's sold 530K in 5 months at the full price of $50. Not bad for a niche rail shooter IMHO.
jeffrey9999 (on 12 April 2010)
I don't like rail shooters so fuck this game cause it kind of sucks. I remember seeing the first screens for this game on vgchartz and everyone was blown away but then we all found out it sucked and we were all like figures another stupied game............
I think they should put this on 360 to see that its not just us who thinks the game sucks its everyone............
jeffrey9999 (on 12 April 2010)
as long as theirs a wii game at gamestop it seems like it will eventually sell and this did 6k this week if it can do 5k every 2 weeks then thats 26k a year average...........
spurgeonryan (on 05 April 2010)
when are wii games that are originally bombs ever really bombs?
wesker496 (on 02 April 2010)
I've seen this being sold for 15 at tesco.
oni-link (on 21 March 2010)
My prediction 650K-700K before a price cut, 800k after a year since it's release and 1-1.3M lifetime.
oni-link (on 21 March 2010)
It will MosDef hit at least 800K before it's one year of release. It's sold 510K in 4 months at the full price of $50. Not bad for a niche rail shooter IMHO.
Salnax (on 21 March 2010)
Huh, I thought that this game was a bomb. Apparently not.
cromeros (on 20 March 2010)
510.000 ... It is not bad... Come On Capcom... Bad sales... no!!!... Strong legs.... Sure!!
SaviorX (on 20 March 2010)
As far as I can tell, after about 14 months at retail, sales for the game will look like this: 140k in Japan, 250k in Others, and 360k in America. When the eventual price drop happens, and the Christmas boost occurs, sales may be even a little higher; it depends.

So I see this game netting at least ~750k, and selling about ~1k a week worldwide after those first 14 months are over. It will meet Capcom expectations.
hellraider (on 19 March 2010)
Can't imagine how much a proper RE could sell on the wii...
oni-link (on 17 March 2010)
Over 510k for a $50 rail shooter after only 4 months of release Capcom should be doing jumping jacks!
AwesomeElmo (on 14 March 2010)
Well whatever the sales figure when the price is discounted you can add one to it because I definitely want this game but just can't afford full price. This is quite a stellar performance for a rail shooter at full price all things in consideration.
*Sound Of Rain (on 12 March 2010)
This is the best Rail game I have ever played and I am so happy it has now reached 500K like I knew it would. Also it will pass 800K and will hit 1 Million someday as it is still full price and Wii games are ALL about legs. I still don't know why publishers have to complain about the Wii after the game has only been out for like 3 weeks.
GupX19A (on 12 March 2010)
I bet this game has more piraters than actual owners. That, and most Wii owners are cheap and waiting for a price drop. This game is well worth the full price.
oni-link (on 12 March 2010)
800K is very doable seeing this crap is still at full price!!!
Black Fist (on 11 March 2010)
This game was a failure in Capcoms eye, as they were expecting it to sell 800,000 units worldwide
jcalamil (on 11 March 2010)
all right, half a million games sold
MarioGalaxy (on 11 March 2010)
This game is succesful. Specially when it's a sequel of anorther Ligth gun sooter.
Well done. When the price is cut the game 'll rise in sales again, but Capcom now has made some good profit with this title.
freddy1403 (on 11 March 2010)
500K for this games is good
oni-link (on 11 March 2010)
500K copies for a $50 light gun game is quite good IMHO.
GupX19A (on 08 March 2010)
This is a great game and it's a joke when people complain about not getting RE5 on Wii instead when it would be an obvious downgrade ala Dead Rising.
intro94 (on 06 March 2010)
capcom didnt complain.it was a rep-dev from French branch, where it didnt sell too hot.But french sales are meaningless compared to world sales.capcom never really complained.
*Sound Of Rain (on 05 March 2010)
Honestly I have played both this game and Resident Evil 5 and I like The Darkside Chronicals a lot more!
jagleics (on 04 March 2010)
Why did Capcom kick off and complain about the wii so early on, about 4 weeks after this game was released. They then went on to say adult games don't say well on the wii. Sega the same and Bayonetta has been a flop on the PS3 compared to Madworld. The wii has got the audience, the audience just won't get second best..
hankakacjd (on 02 March 2010)
capcom doesn't deserve to have huge success on wii, as they promised from the original release of the first ligh-gun game, that they would consider a definite possibility of porting resi 5 to wii. the original sold over a million and no show of a 5 title anywhere on wii. shame, shame. I protested by not buying darkside chronicles. maybe a lot of other people feel the same way
primogen18 (on 28 February 2010)
that doesn't stop them from complaining, and they along with sega have been about Wii sales. The 2 last companies that should be complaining, but what can we do.
younghavok (on 27 February 2010)
its nearly at 500k and its still full price? This game is doing pretty damn good. Once the price drops it might just hit 1mil. Capcom does really well on the Wii
marcianito (on 27 February 2010)
half a million with original price, impressive
SaviorX (on 25 February 2010)
After it hits 500k, it is due time for the price drop. Sales will probably increase when it is no longer full price.
exindguy (on 24 February 2010)
@spurgeonryan:

Yes, I remember shooters: ya know, like Raiden and its ilk when they ruled the roost during 16-bit, and you seem to be referring to FPS.
spurgeonryan (on 23 February 2010)
Oh wow you actually talked ot capcom and foudn out what they think is a success! Anyways, Im just joking. All these rail shooters must be banking! What does it cost to make one of these crap shoots? What happened to the days of the 64 when we actually had shooters! I guess I will have to go back and play perfect dark and goldeneye some more while I wait
jcalamil (on 17 February 2010)
I think the "shaky" cam is the feature that people don't like, but they do like other features like Next-Gen Graphics, more money in the game, nostalgia for RE2 and Veronica Games, etc.
johnsobas (on 12 February 2010)
all they have to do is drop the price to $30 in time for the holiday season 2010 and sales will pick up again. I think it's gonna reach expectations.
torchmoney1 (on 12 February 2010)
this is a success in capcom eyes it will reach a million it R.E
Muchs (on 11 February 2010)
I bought it @ amazon.de for 35€ and not for 50, Triadfish
Siko1989 (on 11 February 2010)
its not bad sales for a light gun game, if this drops in price to $40US it will make 800k and if it drops to $30 a million and if it goes right down to 15 bucks it will to half a million or 2 million
Triadfish (on 09 February 2010)
Here in germany, they sell it for 50 = 68 $... Thats too much for a Lightgun Shooter.
Paul (on 08 February 2010)
I'll pick this up when it's $12.99
Triadfish (on 08 February 2010)
With the 7 weeks missing for Japan (in the 10 weeks period) this game will reach about 500k worldwide in the first 10 weeks and then 700-800k Lifetime. This is pretty good for a full price Lightgun Shooter i would say.
wesker496 (on 07 February 2010)
It doesn't matter if this game isnt a success in Capcom's eye's - Capcom (hopefully) have realised that crap wont sell on Wii like they were hoping it would. Now they might try to releasing quality games like MH3.
jcalamil (on 06 February 2010)
did capcom mentioned to get 800k near March or not?
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 06 February 2010)
don't shout torchmoney1 : P

i agree Capcom finally makes good games on Wii, can't wait for Monster Hunter 3
torchmoney1 (on 06 February 2010)
MOST IDOTS JUDGE THING BY FIRST WEEK SELL AND YES FIRST WEEK SELLS DOES MATTER .ONLY CAUSE THE MONEY COMES IN FASTER AND THAT IS THE REASON Y IT DOES .SO MORE PROJECTS COULD BEEN WORK ON .THAT HOW THE BIZS GOES ON ALL LEVELS OF PRODUCT.BUT IT REALLY DEPEND A YEAR THIS GAME ONLY BEEN OUT FOR ABOUT 2-3 MONTHS IF IM CORRECT .THIS IS WHY PRICES DROP BECAUSE PRODUCT IS MOVING SLOW FROM THE MARKETING PLAN SO UNDERSTAND THE BIZ BEFORE U DOUBT SELLS
torchmoney1 (on 06 February 2010)
IS IT ME OR IS CAPCOM THE ONLY COMPANY THAT SELLING GAME ON THE WII BESIDE UBISOFT
torchmoney1 (on 05 February 2010)
GOOD SELL FOR A GAME THAT DID NT BEEN OUT 4 A HOLE YEAR
jcalamil (on 04 February 2010)
their goal is not march
jcalamil (on 03 February 2010)
the problem is the release region, in japan was released later
wesker496 (on 03 February 2010)
This game already sold more than it deserved.
oni-link (on 03 February 2010)
whatever it will still give Capcom a profit...i.e. a smaller profit but a profit none the less. They're actually lucky they sold this much for a gun game.
midaks (on 02 February 2010)
I really think that if Capcom spent time making a better game then they would get better sales. I mean I don't even think they deserve these sales, especially with such a shallow marketing campaign. By the way, this has most likely already garnered a profit for Capcom, due to the fact that Wii games cost much less to make and especially lightgun shooters. not that i dont like light gun shooters
widescreen (on 02 February 2010)
Capcom expected to sell 800K of this game before the end of the fiscal year. We're already in February, unless there is some sort of miracle within the next 28 days, Capcom will still consider this game a disapointment.
Bobbuffalo (on 01 February 2010)
I guess that if they made this game a 3D person shooter with RE4 controllers it would have been better received and sold more. Shame on you capcom.
Siko1989 (on 31 January 2010)
its a damn light gun game, i sure the hell know that it wont be hot off the chartz, but it will be a million seller mark my words
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 31 January 2010)
come on, sales are good!

probably above 1m some time!
DarkNight_DS (on 31 January 2010)
I wanted to buy this game today but couldn't find it anywhere.... sold out in Durham region Ontario?
widescreen (on 30 January 2010)
this game has legs!
kevinrize (on 30 January 2010)
420 k for a on rails shooter which hasnt been advertised much and has been released for 2 months is absolutely great
cromeros (on 29 January 2010)
420K... is very good Capcom... Come on!!!... It Outsells a millions units this year...
Metallicube (on 29 January 2010)
I thought Capcom were whining about the sales of this game? Seems pretty damn good to me considering it's yet ANOTHER on rails shooter on Wii. This game should pretty easily make a million, in which case Capcom probably would end up making money on this game.
DavidValbu (on 29 January 2010)
What is Capcom complaining about?
guiduc (on 29 January 2010)
Disappointing, huh?
Tayne (on 29 January 2010)
400k is great! Why the hell were people complaining again?
oni-link (on 28 January 2010)
400k already at full price is quite an accomplishment for a light gun game. The only place I see that would benefit from a price cut is in others!!!
oni-link (on 28 January 2010)
Wk 1 in Japan definitely under tracked compared to famitsu's numbers: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=6761&mp=1
it will surely beat famitsu's lifetime sales there!!! The only place where it is struggling compared to it's predecessor is Others for reasons unknown!
famousringo (on 28 January 2010)
@ oni-link

Those are Famitsu estimates, not Capcom's expectations. Capcom is expecting 800k lifetime from this title.

Week 2 sales in Japan were good, on par with RE:UC. Should manage at least 200k in that region.
oni-link (on 25 January 2010)
@biggumby
According to this http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=92630

initial shipment was 100k-130k with lifetime estimate at 180K!!!

Siko1989 (on 25 January 2010)
what are capcom complaining about? this is gonna be a million seller and we all know that
BigGumby (on 24 January 2010)
Great opening in Japan, what were Capcoms predictions for lifetime sales?
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 24 January 2010)
nice Japan
johnsobas (on 24 January 2010)
when all is said and done it looks like this will at the very least get quite close to Capcom's expectations. It is halfway there now.
SaviorX (on 22 January 2010)
Will get to 425k next week. Assuming the actual shipment landed in the middle ground (115k) of the the Famitsu 1st shipment figures (100k-130k), it will pass 80% sellthrough next week.
marcianito (on 21 January 2010)
it did great in Japan
menx64 (on 21 January 2010)
This is game is not dead, the sells will continue for some months... I will sell well at the end...
IxisNaugus (on 21 January 2010)
Are Capcom really complaining about the sales?
oni-link (on 21 January 2010)
that would still put it somewher around 70% sell thru on the initial shipment that famitsu put out http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=92630 .
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 19 January 2010)
best graphics on Wii

if you use component cables, looks just like an average Ps3 game, no kidding

seems Capcom has the key to Wii graphics
famousringo (on 18 January 2010)
Japan Preview suggests ~70k launch week there, which is down but not too far down.

It should reach Capcom's 800k expectations, but not much better.
ocarinaoftime (on 17 January 2010)
i wanted re5 like many others......i dont want no rail shooter ......if this sounds harsh i will say im sorry to all the re:dc and re:uc fans.....i bought the resdent evil 4 wii edtion and i luved it......
uno (on 16 January 2010)
Will return this game. Its not the best. Graphically it is well done.

It will sell ok.
Tuulikk (on 15 January 2010)
310k in 8 incomplete weeks (missing Japan and one day in others) ain't that bad.

But there has been more then a few times people from publishers have expressed their thoughts about how bad a game on Wii has sold and then time has gone bye, sales has grown stronger and the melody from publishers has changed.

I think a problem has been that many games released in 2009 has crashed and burned, so publishers has gotten more afraid when the first weeks has not shown all that good numbers.

Hopefully this RE game, Monster Hunter 3, a few Sega games, Call of Duty games can give a more positive look on the future of Wii then of late.
spurgeonryan (on 14 January 2010)
What do they expect? Remember the original playstation and all the sports games that came out for it every year? They couldn't all do good there were just too manyof them. How many un-original title do we need?
SaviorX (on 14 January 2010)
Japan should manage at least 100k if the sales of the Archives games are anything to go by.
J.U.N.O (on 14 January 2010)
They called it a flop but they dotn consider that some Wii games, RE:UC included sell over time. Give it a few more weeks...
famousringo (on 14 January 2010)
@ jcalamil

You've got a point. I didn't realize how strong RE:UC's sales were in Japan.

EU sales are certainly down compared to RE:UC, but NA sales look pretty flat. It could meet Capcom's 800k expectations as long as Japan doesn't disappoint.
BigGumby (on 13 January 2010)
It didnt flop, this is selling much better than HOD:O did this far after release, and that games is OVER 500,000, this will definetly sell more.
jcalamil (on 13 January 2010)
I think I know the reason, in Japan is out on January 14th, comparing this with Umbrella Chronicles, the release date was almost the same, probably this is the problem, I hope Japan has good sales.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 13 January 2010)
clearly the best graphics on Wii!
famousringo (on 13 January 2010)
Will it sell well over time? Depends on what you define as 'well.'

It should clear 500k lifetime, which might be enough to at least cover the bills, but Capcom's expectations were 800k. I don't think this game is going to reach that.
jcalamil (on 12 January 2010)
!answer the last question please! thank you
jcalamil (on 12 January 2010)
do you think this game will have good sales through time?
AwesomeElmo (on 11 January 2010)
wha...? I thought this was the flop of the decade and now I see that it has sold nearly 300k already. Must be a typical case of press jumping on the bandwagon before the story plays out.
oni-link (on 08 January 2010)
The ppl trolling are just mad cuz this game isn't on their system. Stupid fanboys!!!
SaviorX (on 07 January 2010)
I hope no one is dumb enough to call it a flop after a mere month and a half. Light-gun shooters sell over time, especially at LOWER price points. When this sells below 4k WW then we'll talk. This game is still full price, and as a result has brought in ~$14 million in revenue (as of January 7th, 2010).

If Capcom hasn't broken even already, they will soon enough.
oliist (on 07 January 2010)
@All
don't respond to people that are trolling/flaming or something similar.
Report them!
Or at least ignore them.
darkgemini (on 07 January 2010)
time will tell. wii games sell for a long time. UC had bigger sales, but steady sales, too. I think darksidechronicles will reach 500k easily, maybe 750k or even more.
Buzzi (on 07 January 2010)
After 3 years people still claiming Wii games flop after less than 2 months? Excite Bots is a flop, Little King's Story is a flop, this sold over 50k last week and if has legs 500k are not impossible. Considering the Wii costs it must give a profit at 500k. And it's a rail shooter, how can you expect big sales?
uno (on 07 January 2010)
I just bought this game from Amazon. Wont get it till the 25th though :(
intro94 (on 06 January 2010)
dunno, if seth killian is happy even with CTYD sales, i dont see any problem being happy with this. Surely however ,is a hint a traditional RE gameplay would refresh sales.
Hisiru (on 05 January 2010)
Super-saturation of a genre that isn't popular.
DarkLantis (on 29 December 2009)
this game is awesome! i've just finished with a friend. Great graphics and great gameplay!
famousringo (on 29 December 2009)
Yep, super-saturation of the genre. Tracking less than 50% of its predecessor. This is the third original, mature, full-priced light gun game that the Wii has seen this year. Its IP is pretty much the only reason it's doing as well as it is.
uno (on 25 December 2009)
29 bucks on Amazon!!!
SaviorX (on 24 December 2009)
Decent sales. Already reached 1/4 of Capcom's projections after a little over a month.

Will probably sell steadily around 10k Worldwide for a long time.
primogen18 (on 24 December 2009)
good pick up in sales
krammaii (on 21 December 2009)
Wow, really, really slow start on this one compared to the previous game. Light gun over-saturation on the Wii?
DOLBYdigital (on 21 December 2009)
Yeah I got Dead Space instead of this game but its good to see this one is doing okay. Probably grab this eventually but Dead Space is really good and is filling my light gun fix for now ;)
Green Penguin (on 21 December 2009)
This will get to 1 Million without a doubt.
swordplay (on 18 December 2009)
There's just too many on rail shooters! I enjoyed a few but I can't buy them all. I ignored this one because I wanted a real RE title.
primogen18 (on 18 December 2009)
800k? I'm sure it will make at least that...
SaviorX (on 18 December 2009)
@cliffhanger
Capcom wants 800,000.
cliffhanger (on 18 December 2009)
I don't think it will get to a million.
SaviorX (on 15 December 2009)
Adjusted down a little bit (83k first week NA to 76k) Week 2 went from 34k to 30k I believe
zzyoshiman (on 15 December 2009)
should do alrite, ive seen commercials for this game and that will give it more sales
MarioGalaxy (on 15 December 2009)
@OkeyDokey

Be cal and don't worry. This 'll be a million seller for sure. Is usual these adjustements by Vgchatz because it's very difficult to get real numbers. In spite of this, RE.The DC 'll reach the million mark before the end of 2010. It's on sale just for 3 weeks and Xmas high sales have to come! Furthermore, in January 'll be launched in Japan.
--OkeyDokey-- (on 15 December 2009)
How can it drop that bad in the middle of the holidays? No chance at a million for this.
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 14 December 2009)
Adjusted down a bit. Oh well :/
Chrizum (on 14 December 2009)
@Vagebond: US accounts for at least 88% of America's. If we account for that, NPD has this game around 40k or just above it for the entire American continent.

This game is hugely overtracked.
stimpi13 (on 12 December 2009)
Similar sales of umbrella cronicles!!
kopstudent89 (on 12 December 2009)
wow huge disappointment then...
The_vagabond7 (on 12 December 2009)
NPD only tracks the US. VG chartz tracks US, Canada and south americas. Thusly it being called "Americas" and not "US".
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 11 December 2009)
@Chrizum

What?! That discrepancy is massive! I guess this means we've got adjustments coming up... *sigh*
coonana (on 11 December 2009)
This may be from bad reviews, but these games sell slow and steady its all about the longterm.

Which is the case with most good selling third party Wii games.
KylieDog (on 10 December 2009)
Umbrella Chronicles sold 5 times this in others first week, both had only 2 days worth of sales.

UC is better though...
Gintoki (on 09 December 2009)
@MarioGalaxy
Absolutely
I hope it will sell well, I'm trying to get all my friends to by it because it is awesome and worth the price.
MarioGalaxy (on 09 December 2009)
@Savior X, you are rigth. The game was launched on December 27th here, so those numbers reflects just one day sales. Wait for the next week. European people likes Resident Evil, so I hope great numbers for the next weeks. I say "weeks" because we don't have a Black Friday day, so people 'll wait until the week before Xmas to buy a lot I guess.
SaviorX (on 07 December 2009)
Others is horrible!
However these are first day sales.
Siko1989 (on 07 December 2009)
oni-link

acturally i seen abit of advertising for this game... not on T.V. but i seen logo's on popular game sites and it gained alittle hype
Gintoki (on 07 December 2009)
I love this game. Way better than Umbrella though I appreciated it.
ash3336 (on 07 December 2009)
Will go on to beat Umbrella Chronicles eventually. I just hope, The Japan launch is huge. I am hope for 200k, launch week there. That would be awesome.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 07 December 2009)
it will have long legs in others
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 07 December 2009)
oni-link, yeah, but as a tradeoff it's selling brutally worse in Others than it's predecessor. Umbrella Chronicles opened to 50k, this one to 10k!
oni-link (on 07 December 2009)
good sell thru in the americas despite the lack or nonexistence of advertising and brutal reviews!!! It's selling better in it's first 2 weeks compared to it's predecessor!
IxisNaugus (on 06 December 2009)
@ st_muscat0.

I've not seen any tv ads yet, but i do remember seeing one massive poster on a billboard for this game. It might not be getting much advertisement over here, but it's definitely getting some.
st_muscat0 (on 06 December 2009)
I tell you why it didn't sell in others, its because it had no advertisement what so ever, I didn't even know it released last week. That's why it sold like crap.
AJM Ruler (on 06 December 2009)
I am pretty sure the Others sales is only first day which isn't bad.
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 06 December 2009)
My god, I hate Others. Always such terrible openings nowadays...
pokeclaudel (on 06 December 2009)
Well it still did better than the first one so that's good. I'm sure it'll reach 1 million at some point.
Kenology (on 06 December 2009)
I was expecting this to do better in week 2.
palancas7 (on 06 December 2009)
@primogen18: Right in front of you.
primogen18 (on 06 December 2009)
seriously where are the black friday sales?
pokeclaudel (on 03 December 2009)
Just got this game yesterday. Never played the RE:UC but this is pretty good. Shaky cam not as bad as I thought it would but still a little annoying. I will never buy DSE!
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 03 December 2009)
Wow, love this game. It's fantastic :D Even better than Umbrella Chronicles was, in my opinion.
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 02 December 2009)
Just got this game yesterday to review it for a site where I work. Gonna play it today, hope it's good :)
Falk Sturmfels (on 30 November 2009)
Good for us Wii players, but sad for EAs Dead Space. Isnt that unbelievable? Beating DSE in just one week in just one territory? Come on, guys, buy also DSE!
chris_wing (on 29 November 2009)
Come on Capcom, Make Res Evil 6 Wii exclusive, you know you want to, come oooon.
primogen18 (on 29 November 2009)
RE:UC had a first week of 76,500k, so this has it topped by around 7k for first week! Overall this is a stronger title then the last with online features, so I would imagine it would keep selling like the last.
Alex_The_Hedgehog (on 29 November 2009)
Good start!

Is this better than Umbrella Chronicles?
fairyliar (on 29 November 2009)
very strong debut ins the US
will easily hit the million like its predecessor
josewiisantos (on 29 November 2009)
is already sold more than dead space? ugh I hate it but love it... Is a good game but nowhere near as awesome as dead space...but i do love me some Resident evil
Arfen (on 28 November 2009)
sorry but Capcom bes debut was Monster hunter tri in Japan
:p
kopstudent89 (on 28 November 2009)
I think the box cover will help sales, it truely feels RE like
Siko1989 (on 28 November 2009)
wow.. nice, good start, others you better make 70k or 60k damn it
IxisNaugus (on 27 November 2009)
Looks like a good start in the US according to everyone. I hope the first week in EU meets expectations.
ash3336 (on 27 November 2009)
On to becoming the best mature game opening week on wii. Umbrella chronicles holds the record and this could completely beat it.
primogen18 (on 27 November 2009)
wow, very nice, hope this goes to 1million, but then again I am sure. People went nuts for this today at toys r us, I saw quite a few sold.
supermetalrockdave99 (on 27 November 2009)
This is actually Capcom's best debut on the Wii yet. RE4 and UC both were 70k.
atma998 (on 27 November 2009)
Good start, should become a million seller sometime in 2010.
Gintoki (on 27 November 2009)
Just got it with the Wii Zapper. This is going to be huge
Kenology (on 27 November 2009)
Great opening! And I still haven't bought my copy yet! This will do very well this holiday.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 27 November 2009)
nice opening!
Chrizum (on 27 November 2009)
Great opening, I expected less.
widescreen (on 26 November 2009)
Capcom expects to sell 800 000 copies of this game.
marcianito (on 26 November 2009)
wow very good opening
SaviorX (on 26 November 2009)
Great opening!
Lets see how the legs hold through the holidays.
Majin-Tenshinhan (on 26 November 2009)
Wow! Better opening in the US than Umbrella Chronicles had. Not bad :D
MarioGalaxy (on 25 November 2009)
500 k Worldwide from now until Xmas period?
SaviorX (on 15 November 2009)
Now, with final preorder data, the title should be at 60k first week in Americas, with 415k overall in the region.
scottie (on 13 November 2009)
I hope this does well, the Wii is pretty choc full of on rails shooters already
Sherlock99 (on 11 November 2009)
I can't wait to get my hands on this
Chrizum (on 03 November 2009)
Capcom wants 800k? I think they'll be in for a disappointment...
SaviorX (on 30 October 2009)
Capcom wants 800,000 lifetime from this game. Right now, it has 35,000 preorders a month before release in America.

Should manage a ~55k first week (NA) and legs have to support it through the holidays and summer months.
RedInker (on 27 October 2009)
This game will sale over a million. Only just though.
Kwaidd (on 25 October 2009)
pre-ordered looking fwd to the game and of course the pre order bonus "zombie face" t-shirt!
Chrizum (on 12 October 2009)
100k worldwide? That's much too low. It will probably do 60k - 65k first week in Americas. Add an additional 70k - 75k for Japan and 35k - 40k for Others, and you have a first week of 165k - 180k.

Lifetime sales should be in the 680k - 720k range.
adam84 (on 10 October 2009)
should sell great, 100k maybe more for first week i think
kyjoe9 (on 12 September 2009)
so which resident evil games does this take place during? re2 and veronica?
primogen18 (on 09 September 2009)
I agree with hyperion, Wii owners love RE, if the 100k+ and growing sales of the RE1 port don't say that, I don't know what will...
ziemjak (on 06 September 2009)
I want Resident Evil 2 remake!!
ajaghvajagh (on 04 September 2009)
Another game that comes out nov 17 along with L4D2 and Assassins Creed (and Tony Hawk but who cares right? :P)

Can't wait!
invisible29 (on 25 June 2009)
Cant wait!
Hyperion (on 30 May 2009)
This is a guaranteed million-seller.
shakarak (on 20 April 2009)
I cant wait!
nordlead (on 12 March 2009)
this should be out in the winter of 09.
oliist (on 12 March 2009)
Wii = Light Gun/Rail Shooter heaven :)
puffy (on 12 March 2009)
I wonder how long we'll have to wait for this.. I guess we'll have Dead Space Extraction to tide us over in the mean time

Yay 145th million seller!
Fededx (on 17 December 2013)
YES!!! Finally! Million seller! Congrats
Capcom!
atma998 (on 02 January 2013)
0.98M. Has not reached the million in
2012 but will surely do in 2013.
Fededx (on 07 July 2012)
Bought it, have to play it yet! But the
graphics are amazing! Hope it breaks the
