this is one of gaming's true hidden gems... excellent and fresh.
spurgeonryan (on 04 January 2011)
well the legs were freaking outstanding, the game was good for my kids, but too boring for me..sorrry. dennis hopper was in the cartoon alpha and omega so his paycheck couldnt have been too big for this, and the other guy just wanted to work as a redneck again. these sailes get my approbal
Salem (on 13 November 2010)
I liked it, it was fun playing as bugs so to speak, too bad it didnt have more sales
Venox2008 (on 23 October 2010)
finished it today - great game :) deserves more sales, very original, nice level designs and it has a story too :)
oni-link (on 22 April 2010)
sold well for a game that features spiders and scorpions as main characters. c'mon it's original but did anyone really get attached to these characters? Also 150K within a year of release for this type of game is a disappointment but not a total failure; as they can reuse the graphics engine (if they could clean it up a bit) for other games on the Wii!!
spurgeonryan (on 03 April 2010)
yeah hopefully others can give a boost to 200,000 eventually. I just bought it for about so far! didn't someone say gamestop was selling Cursed Mountain for ten bucks? I guess 17.99 isnt too bad maybe I will get it.
Chrizum (on 12 February 2010)
Finished the game. Pretty interesting. A game I'll remember that's for sure.
Boutros (on 10 February 2010)
I don't like it.
hunter_alien (on 10 February 2010)
That was strange indeed. The game had a pretty good budget yet they seemed to neglect it whn it came down to adds. Strange indeed :|
midaks (on 02 February 2010)
This game really deserved to sell more though.... like I'm pretty sure production values were high. Considering that the game had Billy Bob Thornton and Dennis Hopper. Like shit with actors like that you'd think they would've marketed it a lot more. Stupid THQ...
Chrizum (on 01 February 2010)
150k isn't that bad.
Falk Sturmfels (on 01 February 2010)
Cool. Still selling.
snowdog (on 29 November 2009)
It's a shame that for some strange reason THQ decided not to market this game at all. It's a great games imo and deserves to sell well. I really can't understand the thinking behind some publishers regarding the lack of advertising for Wii games.
Skorpion (on 28 November 2009)
$10 at Meijer Black Friday, Score!
Falk Sturmfels (on 27 November 2009)
Another 10.000! Good!
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 27 October 2009)
poor game, all it needs it's an advertisement in christmas and it can sell

those legs show that people who play the game like it
Son1x (on 21 October 2009)
Now those are some legs, hah. Still bad sales, though.
MEnkeli (on 21 October 2009)
It's really a shame the game has sold so poorly. I loved every minute of it!

It was such a nice little adventure through the world of insects! The animation was superb, the atmosphere was great and the sounds also great!
spurgeonryan (on 15 October 2009)
haha another ten thous.
josewiisantos (on 14 October 2009)
I dunno primogen I think Muramasa got way more advertisement than Madworld. Muramasa got a release party at the nintendo store. Madworld did have some tv commercials but it was like days before it came out like you said. Nintendo is smart for advertising their games the other companies should catch up...
darkwing64 (on 10 October 2009)
I ve, read on IGN that this was a pretty decent game, never seen it here on mexico its a shame
primogen18 (on 06 October 2009)
to sum it up peachy, yes, it does have to be shoved down some throats to be known. All of those titles you listed barely got any promotion. Conduit and Madworld got commercials that lasted from around a couple weeks before release, to like a day after. I doubt they will get any holiday commercials as well. Deadly creatures/ Muramasa got NOTHING, so aside from a few people on IGN and here,(and myself) I can't name a single person who knows about it, including many who are Wii owners. Im sure we will see MKWii/DS commercials this holiday, and of course other first party Nintendo titles, along with maybe some brain age and layton commercials, these companies actually continue promotion.
peachyO (on 22 September 2009)
pathetic sales for a top-notch, intensely high-quality game. thq should be ashamed for not promoting this worthy title, and wii owners should be slapped for not buying this. if terrific third-party titles like this, madworld, and muramasa don't sell, then wii is doomed to drown in horrific shovelware forever. and wii owners who complain about the lack of third party support have no right to do so... here is an AWESOME game, and it gets the cold shoulder!! does a great game have to be shoved down your throat before you recognize it as a winner!?
Malio (on 17 September 2009)
Pretty cool game. Worth playing, I'd say.
mandisc (on 09 September 2009)
This game is way better than most "Soldiers or swordsmen" games. I would welcome more games like this
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 23 August 2009)
ok, let's go to 200 000

it will take some time of course, but who knows
Falk Sturmfels (on 09 August 2009)
Finally it sold at least 100.000 copies. Good job.
primogen18 (on 05 August 2009)
this unfortunately got a shovelware-like cover but I find it very entertaining with some depth. Im sure more people were turned away by the cover though, add that to lack of advertisement and from an outside it looks like a stinker.
Falk Sturmfels (on 31 July 2009)
@AOK Games: Oh, yeah, great comment, make another swordsmen game. Playing a tarantula and a scorpion was the reason why i bought this. And it is a really cool game with frightning moments and an outstanding score.
AOK Games (on 30 July 2009)
It amazes me when people don't understand why this did so bad. Is it so hard to figure out?

You're talking about a game where all you do is play as a tarantula or a scorpion. There's absolutely nothing appealing about this game, especially when you compare it to other games where you play as soldiers or swordsmen.

This should be a message to developers: if you want a core Wii game to sell, make it interesting.
Intendo21 (on 29 July 2009)
I got it at 19.99. I'm surprisingly playing this over Fallout 3.
Falk Sturmfels (on 22 July 2009)
Good game, sorry for the sales. Man, coregames do mostly shitty on the wii. But put "sports" or "party" in the name and you sell millions.
Intendo21 (on 18 July 2009)
I dont understand how this did so bad
megaman79 (on 18 July 2009)
Playing this on Deadly difficulty so it will last. That scorpion on the first level is a bitch.
hunter_alien (on 13 July 2009)
With some decent legs, a lowered pricetag this could reach 200k... not a huge achievment but at least it will be decent over time :|
jeffreysig (on 29 June 2009)
Very cool game
Skorpion (on 24 June 2009)
I'll def pick it up when it drops in price. Although I'm thinking about signing up for gamefly with all the wii games coming out this year. My wishlist is getting out of control.
ash3336 (on 11 June 2009)
If it can only continur to sell 3-4k per week for 2-3 months. That would be ok.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 11 June 2009)
OMG, it's still alive

sold 2.3k this week, come on, at least reach 200k (in the far future)
whacker41 (on 05 June 2009)
it's still crawling in sales. its really low, but if it keeps it up, there's a distinct possibility it could break even.
megaman79 (on 01 June 2009)

MarioGalaxy (on 23 May 2009)
Sales for this one are completely dead. It's a shame, because I think it's a very unique, special and original game.
0.70 k are bad numbers. :(
almajovem (on 21 May 2009)
this game is awesome
Aj_habfan (on 19 May 2009)
Wow, I'm surprised at how hard this game bombed, it looked promising.
intro94 (on 14 May 2009)
bluedog recently, and regarding the issue of profits specifically, a THQ PR explained that for titles like DC, the range between 100k-400k is the desired ,and in the specific case of DC im guessing 300k would be fine.Thats a longshot but doable. You can browse for that interview. Not saying this is doing great, but THQ itself saying this is aiming for 100k-400k means they arent that surprised.
naruto3336 (on 12 May 2009)
Now sold more than Tenchu!
bluedog (on 08 May 2009)

After I posted, I figured that is probably what you meant.

However, with THQ posting a $431 million loss this year, games that can only sell a couple of hundred thousand units will not be viewed positively by the senior management. Particularly when they contribute to that loss.
intro94 (on 06 May 2009)
bluedog i meant as in overall, it still manages to sell ,in lesser amounts but still enough to add a respectable amount each month. If the game reaches 100k in 3 more months, and 200k within this year its a reasonable amount for a low key title.
mpereira (on 06 May 2009)
Sales are increasing
yup :)
bluedog (on 30 April 2009)
hey intro94,

the sales have DECREASED every week for the last 4 weeks.
intro94 (on 30 April 2009)
sales increasing decently...the game deserves it
naruto3336 (on 28 April 2009)
In short, this game deserves better sales. Even 200k would be nice.
YoshiLimbo (on 26 April 2009)
This is game is such a dissapointment, the locations are bland. Its very repetitive and frustating they make you fight a boss, and you will only have a little health left and they throw you into a repetitve battle where a spider will squirt poison at you from no-where! Though the music is nice.
Soriku (on 22 April 2009)
Rainbow Studios have more games in the works.

OSV: Are you able to tell us about your next project at this time? Were looking forward to what you do next!

Lowmiller: Im actually working on some very cool projects at Rainbow right now, but Im afraid that theyre all still under wraps.
snyperdud (on 19 April 2009)
Perhaps the boxart is to blame?

Spiders and snakes are feared by a lot of people.
Cheebee (on 18 April 2009)
Man, only 50k? :s That's so sad...
I do hope it'll get adjusted up or something because these numbers are really extremely low.
I'll probably buy it myself, just don't have the money right now.. ):
naruto3336 (on 14 April 2009)
Hopefully this gets adjusted up.
Nintendogamer (on 13 April 2009)
Only 50,000 sold, should be like 20 times more, which is a million seller
scottie (on 12 April 2009)
I should buy this soon
sabby_e17 (on 10 April 2009)
its sad to see a unique game like this bomb
naruto3336 (on 08 April 2009)

oooo yeah! sry forgot bout tht. but this has better legs than that game so this will end up selling more. Plus this has a much more audience to please than that considering this is T.
bmmb1 (on 08 April 2009)
naruto3336 - Re: Tenchu 4 vs. Deadly Creatures numbers - for some reason, vgchartz has separate listings for Tenchu 4 for US and Japan. Tenchu 4 sold 40k in the US, so it sold a total of 70k so far, which is more than Deadly Creatures' 50k.
killeryoshis (on 06 April 2009)
I swear I can't find this game anywhere
mpereira (on 06 April 2009)
It's sad =(
mandisc (on 05 April 2009)
I am quite engulfed by this at the moment. Interesting little game indeed
intro94 (on 05 April 2009)
i want both this and tenchu to do fine. But you gotta remember ,we dont have numbers on EUROPE and US for tenchu. It sold 30k only in a country, japan.Deadly creatures sold 50k US and Europe combined. But it does has legs.
naruto3336 (on 04 April 2009)
Thinking positively, even though this had a much horrible launch week compared to Tenchu, it still sold more than it. this will get to 200k soon by some kind of boost.
zakrocz (on 31 March 2009)
Looking like little hairy legs could keep this afloat for a while yet considering the popularity of the Wii. On the other hand the Wii's popularity also means lots of newer releases fighting for that all important shelf space...

I've had the game since release but the repetitive gameplay is not really grabbing me but it's ok in small doses, very similar to how I feel about Madworld.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 27 March 2009)
the sales are constant, there is hope!
RedMemory (on 25 March 2009)
You can get it at for only 14.99 / 19,49!
I just bought it yesterday.
megaman79 (on 25 March 2009)
THQ are pretty vocal about their games so we'll know if they are happy in 6 months.

Meanwhile its 50 cent 2 thats the real problem, that game certainly cost more and was hyped to sell better than this.
naruto3336 (on 24 March 2009)
save up and get it when it is like 10 bux off. Its still supporting it but helping yourself too.
Cheebee (on 24 March 2009)
I'm in exactly the same picle SmokedHostage seems to be in. I really want to buy this game and support it, but I can't spare enough money!
SmokedHostage (on 24 March 2009)
I need money.. I wanna support this game but I'm broke. :\
zakrocz (on 24 March 2009)
Perhaps they should have given the spider a cuter face :D
Zugdar (on 24 March 2009)
I think the change in release date to spring may have caused the hype train to slow down. Thus lower than expected sales.
SaviorX (on 23 March 2009)
Every week has still been better than its launch. Will Americas keep up the streak in Week 6?
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 23 March 2009)
it has legs, in both regions because it's a good game

but the launch numbers were too low to bring something bigger

they have to advertise a bit
Lolcislaw (on 22 March 2009)
I hope it gets to 200k eventually, i might get at some stage.
intro94 (on 22 March 2009)
Im aware of production costs. And also that they do vary *wildly* between titles. This is a budget title, and i would be hard pressed to believe that with the minimal investment in advertisement they hoped for more.100k ensured sequels on budget wii titles(a lot less than 5 mil earning), that would mean that a profit is already earned with that.So enough with the non-sourced info.
tanaka_k (on 22 March 2009)

The team gave a presentation at my school. I think the exact numbers was 32 full time, plus 3 part time/short term contract.

They gave no hints as to the budget of the game (other than what could be extrapolated from the team size). They did say that a significant amount of content was budgeted out of the game. There was supposed to be at least one extra boss battle with a raven (the concept art are they showed us was sweet). I remember one of the presenters specifically saying that adding that boss battle would have been too expensive, so they cut it to focus on making levels (better "bang for the buck" he said).

Hope this title has some legs...
SaviorX (on 21 March 2009)
I wouldn't call it a flop yet. If the legs die in a couple weeks, go ahead.
naruto3336 (on 20 March 2009)
Unless this game gets adjust up 20-30k for the first 4 weeks, it will be a total flop.
Soriku (on 19 March 2009)
Seems this game should sport good legs for a while.
theshizzolator (on 19 March 2009)
OMG! I'm actually upset and the sales :( Madworld best sell (Y)
famousringo (on 19 March 2009)
8 million is certainly within the realm of possibility. Too bad this game isn't getting the retail or marketing support it needs to clear your target, bluedog.
bluedog (on 19 March 2009)

What makes you think 350k is the magic number?
Chrizum (on 19 March 2009)
LOL, who do you think you're fooling? Oh, BTW I'm head executive at THQ and I say this game has already shipped over a million.

This game should be a mild succes at around 350k sold. Will it ever reach that? I don't think so.
bluedog (on 19 March 2009)
So, in closing...

My nujber is based on the number of people on the team and how long they worked on the game.

Probably a few hundred people have access to that info, so it's not like top secret or something.
bluedog (on 19 March 2009)
On top of all that, they have mentioned publicly that the team had about 30 or so people on it. You do the math. A team of 30 will cost you about 300k per month. So now all you have to do is get the amount of time they spent on the game, add in additional costs for software, add in costs for QA, add in costs for marketing, add in costs for corporate support and you can come of with the number.

Not exact, but it will be in the ballpark
bluedog (on 19 March 2009)
I am a producer in the business... I do know. BTW, 8 mil is not a huge amount on games these days.

My information comes from people I know in the publishing arm of THQ.
Vil3 (on 19 March 2009)

what are you talking about? "one of the most expensive games made in history?"...saw a picture from a Factor5 presentation...they talked about average gamecube game around 3-6miljons and avarage first try 360 game around 7-10...8 millions in my ears sounds a little to much...bout around 6 would have been my ARE expensive to make..
intro94 (on 18 March 2009)
8 mil?where did you get that information from? Why is this one of the most expensive games made in history?do you like to lie a lot?Do you have an idea of how much it really costs to make a game?..geez...
Soriku (on 14 March 2009)

8 mil? Link?
vherub (on 14 March 2009)
I really enjoyed it, the last level brought home everything they were trying to accomplish. I think the idea is good to return to for future games. The Voice talent is fine, but that money probably would have been better spent elsewhere.
bluedog (on 13 March 2009)
"Should be able to reach 300k within a year. Still not very good, but it might eventually break even for THQ."

This game cost over 8 million to make. It will need to get to 500k at full price to break even
Roflinator (on 13 March 2009)

Hopefully this sort of advertisement will help the sales. It even makes me want the game now
Tac0 (on 13 March 2009)
It definitly has potential, the sales are getting better week by week.
Hopefully the sales will continue to grow, then it would have a chance to sell 500k (or even reach 1kk, but thats nearly impossible without any advertisment).
Soriku (on 12 March 2009)
Wow, legs.
puffy (on 12 March 2009)
Word of mouth is helping the sales of this title. Hopefully it continue to increase or at least maintain the current level for a while.
Chrizum (on 12 March 2009)
Should be able to reach 300k within a year. Still not very good, but it might eventually break even for THQ.
SaviorX (on 12 March 2009)
Sales are increasing little by little. For THQ's sake, I hope it maintains this.

They should've advertised it.... de Blob part 2 (But DB did much better)
Son1x (on 12 March 2009)
I'm still thinking if I wanna buy this game. It sounds... well on one side interesting, on other, not so much.

hahaha :D
Myviewing (on 12 March 2009)
Hm, its sales are increasing. Perhaps a good word of mouth can keep this going?
badgenome (on 12 March 2009)
It's got legs! Eight of them!
CONMAN15 (on 12 March 2009)
At least it went up a little bit. maybe it could reach 100k.
Kenka (on 12 March 2009)
What ? sales increase ?
Soma (on 12 March 2009)
O_O 41 VGChartz owners of this game! I still need to buy it :p
Godot (on 12 March 2009)
@intro94: the difference is that Activision started to advertise the Wii version.
SmokedHostage (on 12 March 2009)
Nice acceleration of sales in America! I doubt it will sell 500k but I think 150k to 200k in the coming months is very much approachable.
hunter_alien (on 12 March 2009)
Yesssss... sales are picking up in the US :D Man I hope this game will eventually reach 500k... one of the coolest game concepts in years IMO :D
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 12 March 2009)
thanks god, it's not dead!!

it has legs, go!
Arfen (on 12 March 2009)
this game will not sell without a promotional campaign
kuraobi (on 12 March 2009)
THQ was counting on early adopters to do ALL the advertising for the game. Pretty lazy... but it kinda works in the end.
megaman79 (on 12 March 2009)
notice sales increased week on week in the us, others was a bit up and down
intro94 (on 12 March 2009)
steady sales is good and it means it has legs. I remember when they said WAW flopped on the wii (heck even Activision said so), and then its legs grew and sales multiplied 10 times in 4 months.
SmokedHostage (on 10 March 2009)
steady sales after 4 weeks in Others.
Voltaire (on 10 March 2009)
You guys know Capcom confirmed the WW Wii sales of Okami at somthing like half a million. Thats about even as the PS2 version.
WhiteX (on 08 March 2009)
In the end, this game is nice but not as nice as we thought it would be, that aside, both tenchu 4, HotD Overkill and dead rising were released close to this one, with little advertising and tough competiton it is hard to see this one go well.
intro94 (on 08 March 2009)
Actually drakes, okamis first month on the wii was pretty much as bad or worse than this.It took it 2 years to barely reach 200k on the wii.So lets not cut this out of the 200k mark just yet.
And about hardcore titles from third parties..Well look at World at war, even with the competition from 360 and ps3 versions it sold around a 1 million in a few months. So hardcore can flourish on wii
mandisc (on 06 March 2009)
I partly agree drakesfortune but come on lets be honest. This is a game that has the main characters as a spider or a scorpion. This won't win over many people....I'm guna pick it up as I took the time to research it and think it is worth a go. But your average customer isn't guna go for this over a more commercial product
drakesfortune (on 06 March 2009)

Well at least Okami sold fairly decently on PS2 and ok on Wii. I mean it had over 200k on Wii and probably 300 to 400k on PS2. I mean, they probably at least made a small profit on the game.

Deadly Creatures will never hit 200k, and they will almost definitely lose money on this game. I'm not sure hardcore games are totally done on Wii (outside of Nintendo published games which will sell oodles of millions) but I think 3rd parties will not be putting very many new hardcore IP's on the Wii. It just doesn't make sense to do it when the bulk of the hardcore audience wants PS360 games.
frank242 (on 05 March 2009)
its hard to beliave games like deka spot sells millions, and a so cool game like this nothing dont expect much third party suport on wii after things like this, only salvation mad world i hope it sells.
intro94 (on 04 March 2009)
all the major magazines have given this game high standarts, but games dont sell because of quality but because of hype, brand name and advertisement.
Okami is another example, ranked nearly best wii game yet sold like this.
SinZinDetta (on 04 March 2009)
It is a game about a Tarantula and a Scorpion and people are shocked this game is not selling well?
killeryoshis (on 04 March 2009)
Sales are increasing yes! This game will hit 500k 4 all the time its out
llewdebkram (on 04 March 2009)
I hope the numbers for this are wrong and it does much better.
Cheebee (on 04 March 2009)
Good god. It's selling THAT bad? :s Dang. Well I've never seen any advertising for the game anywhere at all, so... how are people gonna know it exists?
kuraobi (on 04 March 2009)
Yeah I knew it was undertracked in the US ! Almost 22k already
scottie (on 04 March 2009)
legs. Please
megaman79 (on 03 March 2009)
If THQ do go bankrupt i hope Nintendo buys rights for de Blob
megaman79 (on 03 March 2009)

This game, and its lack of marketing, is just one reason why THQ could ruin chance of a de Blob 2.
MickKaine (on 03 March 2009)
I never liked the concept or thought any of the gameplay videos were interesting at all but these numbers have fallen far below my expectations. It's hard to believe a game IGN praised only selling 2k.
puffy (on 03 March 2009)
I just hope THQ rethink the no advertising approach they have for this game because it's ridiculous.. the game deserves better sales but nobody knows it exists!
snyperdud (on 03 March 2009)
This is just a complete shame.

From what ive seen, the game deserves more than what its getting.
DarthGamer (on 02 March 2009)
I sure hope this game will pick up its sales. I enjoyed and it's a good refreshing change from what's out there. I'm recommending it to everyone I know has a Wii.
jim1029 (on 02 March 2009)
I have a feeling that this will pick up in sales now that the word is out about it. I hope it does, it's an awesome game.
badgenome (on 02 March 2009)
Oh my god. That's unbelievable. With such a great concept and BILLY BOB THORNTON~!, I really hoped it would sell well. :-(
haxxiy (on 02 March 2009)
sales fail =/
DirtyP2002 (on 01 March 2009)
Bomb of the year happened in February.

Even with legs, it won't touch 100k.
uno (on 01 March 2009)
i am gonna buy this game later. Too many other games that are really good coming out.

And before we hear the typical "FAIL", let's wait for a few months. or a year. We have seen this happen before where Wii games dont sell a bajillion copies in the first week.

Patience in this day and age is incredibly lacking.
MontanaHatchet (on 01 March 2009)
I can't believe I'm going to be the only optimistic one here, but I think we should wait a little longer than 2 weeks to judge the sales. This game could really surprise us.
travis (on 01 March 2009)
Hum these sales are very saddening. At leat I did not bought my copy yet...

Those saying that this is the proof that third party don't sell on wii are so wrong.

Just look at sega next game in a few months from now. This game is really niche but could have done way better sitn some advertising. But still the fatcremains that it should sell so much more.
Soriku (on 28 February 2009)

Yes, because a niche title like this would sell well. The 'hardcore' games on the HD consoles are what...shooters mostly? The Wii can sell shooters, just look at CoD: WaW or something. Shooters aren't nearly as niche as this game.

But still poor sales =/
cura (on 28 February 2009)
and people wonder why 3rd party developers don't make 'hardcore' games for the wii...
Dgc1808 (on 28 February 2009)
These sales figures are saddening.
coonana (on 28 February 2009)
Another game ignored by the illustrious Nintendo fans because Mario is not plastered on the case...
Onimusha12 (on 28 February 2009)
well so much for the Wii ever getting anymore hardcore games. Sorry Nintendo, you dropped the ball this generation.
avigeant83 (on 28 February 2009)
This game is very creative, great sound, and great acting. Really sad that nobody is buying it :(
tanaka_k (on 28 February 2009)
This is truly sad to see. The devs gave a presentation at my school a week before the release. The guys behind this game are all very passionate, creative people. They took a huge creative risk on this game, and for that I applaud them. I'm not sure how close these sales figures are to being accurate, but if it's close, I guess it's back to racing games for Rainbow Studios.
naruto3336 (on 27 February 2009)
This game will get better sales soon. Hopefully people are going to get bored of overkill soon and buy this next. Looking at the sales make me sooo sad. :(... I got nothing to say.... This game is like so amazing.... WHAT ARE Y'ALL WAITING FOR???? BUY THIS!!!
Voltaire (on 27 February 2009)
With every game that has weak opening sales, the floods of 'no wonder the Wii has less 3rd party games than PS360' begins. I bought the game, cant say that much for the others that lets this game drown.
MonstaMack (on 27 February 2009)
WTF @ Sales
A unique game gets no love as usual.
Incandescence (on 27 February 2009)
Absolutely floptastic. I don't blame the people who didn't buy it.
shokenchi (on 27 February 2009)
third parties go bankrupt if their ps360 games bomb though. thq should make a shooters game since most hardcore gamers want those.
toastboy44562 (on 27 February 2009)
this is why the wii doesnt get as much third party support as the ps360...
naruto3336 (on 27 February 2009)
This is again one of those awesome third party games with awful sales. I hope that lifetime sales go to near 400k like no more heroes but the opening week broke me apart.
sizynski (on 27 February 2009)
Absolutely has to be undertracked. No way this has sold 10k in two regions in two weeks.
bobbo19 (on 27 February 2009)
i did my part, but these sales are awful. Sorry for what is a decent game. Bought it for 3rd party support as much as anything.
stof (on 27 February 2009)
The optimist would note that sales trend of some Small opening Wii games means not only would sales increase, but it also means that unlike most games, THQ could have some success advertising it considerably after their release.

Of course these sales might turn that person to Pessimism.
teknohick (on 27 February 2009)
signs point to the game bombing but this seems too low, many games that came out this year so far seem very under tracked by vgc :x

thq is expecting deblob (500k or < ww) type sales from the game, i cant see thq being THIS far off
Rainbird (on 27 February 2009)
Looks like THQ is gonna go for the carnival games next, holy shit at these sales O_o
TopCat8 (on 27 February 2009)
Noooo!!!! I wanted this game to do well. Let's hope this gets good word of mouth.
Khuutra (on 27 February 2009)
Jesus Christ, I need to snatch this up before it disappears altogether.
saicho (on 27 February 2009)
maybe it's hard to market a game based on being a spider and a scorpion
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 26 February 2009)
awful sales, for a great game

some advertising (out of IGN) would help this game sell a lot
famousringo (on 26 February 2009)
Ouch. Guess I'd better buy this one before it falls off the face of the planet.
frybread (on 26 February 2009)
What a bomb!
drakesfortune (on 26 February 2009)
Hoooooly hell, these are reaaaaaly bad sales. Can this be right? I saw these guys doing interviews on G4 and stuff, so I'm really kind of shocked it's doing this poorly. I thought the online crowd was excited for this game? I guess not.
DarkLantis (on 26 February 2009)
let's face it: a spider and a snake fighting isn't very appealing hahahah
Kenology (on 26 February 2009)
Ken am sad... T_T

This game deserves better. Shame on THQ for not marketing this and sending it to rot on shelves.
lopoto (on 26 February 2009)
absolutely no marketing, not surprised this isn`t selling. shame on you THQ
CONMAN15 (on 26 February 2009)
ouch. They should've done some sort of advertising.
Phoenix_Wiight (on 26 February 2009)
wow i thought it would do bad, but not THIS bad o.O
megaman79 (on 26 February 2009)
This is terrible. Why didn't they atleast try. de Blob has done 700k and they just let this go?
Myviewing (on 26 February 2009)
Man I didn't expect this game to be that huge but..... Daaaaaaang....
mfogg20 (on 26 February 2009)
omg... these sales are soo bad. I find it hard to believe it only did that much...
megaman79 (on 25 February 2009)
THQ let it die, its clearly their fault.

Stupid THQ
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 25 February 2009)
increase, this is good, if it gets over 5,000 and keeps up it will be good
Vil3 (on 25 February 2009)
was hopping on like atleast 8 000 this week...but it will probably increase next week..
Chrizum (on 25 February 2009)
It should be able to reach 60k in Others. I hope it does better in the US, but anything less than 500k WW won't please the publisher I'm afraid.
mfogg20 (on 25 February 2009)

lol.. maybe it can continue the trend
VivaLaWiida (on 25 February 2009)

What's so bad to make a post that this game didn't have a good start in Europe? I think it was clear that this game will flop hard.
Voltaire (on 23 February 2009)

Why dont you go hit puberty somewhere else?

Well this is a game for that bitchy 'hardcore' crowd, and unfortunetly very few of teh hardcorez actually bought the game. Even on the interent the support for this game has never been steller. Im sure itll do better in the States, but i doubt itll blow anyone out of the water.
mfogg20 (on 23 February 2009)
On the wii specific charts it rose from the 31st position last week to the 25th in the UK. So atleast its second week with be better
VivaLaWiida (on 23 February 2009)
pretty good start.. not.
puffy (on 23 February 2009)
Went to EB games today - No Deadly Creatures. Is it out in Australia yet? I haven't seen it anywhere and the guy at the store had no clue what Deadly Creatures was.. Sad but I guess that's what happens with a lack of advertising..
Myviewing (on 22 February 2009)
I was kind of expecting this level. Hopefully the game does better in the States.
megaman79 (on 22 February 2009)
@seece, whats wrong with you? Why are hanging around talking about Wii games, to bash them?
Chrizum (on 22 February 2009)
Unbelievable how bad it did. I didn't expect any mircales, but this is even worse than I thought.
11ht11 (on 22 February 2009)
looks like the dev is gonna make mini games now
arsenal009 (on 22 February 2009)
Ouch, it did terrible in Pal, let's see how it does in NA.

Was there any advertising for this game?
CONMAN15 (on 22 February 2009)
Well this isn't too good. I hope the americas is a different story, because I love the game, and I wish it would become a series. I figures close release to HOTD would hurt its sales. Maybe it'll pick up though.
Seece (on 22 February 2009)
People must HATE bugs ....
VivaLaWiida (on 22 February 2009)
No thanks.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 22 February 2009)
stop saying errors you find in the game, you wouldn't say that if it sold good

the only reason the game didn't sell at launch is that the IGN advertisement and a sticker on the box is not enough

but if the game is really good, it will have legs in Europe like de blob
thekitchensink (on 21 February 2009)
It's really a shame that this game is so full of random loading times and bugs (the bad kind)--I really enjoyed the core experience when it actually worked properly.
naruto3336 (on 21 February 2009)

Seece (on 20 February 2009)
This is one game I won't ever buy when I get a Wii

Hate it :(
TWRoO (on 19 February 2009)
Really nice game so far.

IMO it really only sems to suffer 2 flaws.

1. It's a load heavy game, like some other games it seems to be constantly getting data from the disc (not helped that my Wii disc-reading has become quite loud since I dropped it)

2. I am guessing it is going to be pretty short... I have finished chapter 5, and although they are getting longer I have only sent about 3-3.5 hours so far.... so it looks like about 8-10 hours depending on how good you are.

Even so, well worth it for 24 from ASDA... the experience of it is great even if it may ultimately be short.
travis (on 18 February 2009)
I' get this soon
bobbo19 (on 18 February 2009)
the atmosphere created is the best thing about this game, a very good game with beautiful graphics(for Wii ).
Styster (on 17 February 2009)
They even put the "Best of E3" sticker on the SHRINKWRAP rather than the actual box... Everything about this game has been PERFECT for me so far. :D One of the best Wii Games I have played.
naruto3336 (on 17 February 2009)
Im getting this game next weekend!!
CONMAN15 (on 14 February 2009)
I'm on chapter 5 and this game is so atmospheric. Very cool, very different, I think alot of people will like it. The sound will blow you away.
Zucas (on 14 February 2009)
Played through the first couple of levels and I must say I am impressed. It's in no means an amazing game but definitely something fresh and new from the norm. Very atmospheric as others have said. Very creepy too. Makes me feel like bugs are crawling on me while I play it.
Voltaire (on 13 February 2009)
Played through the first level (tarantula), and im impressed. Its not going to win any awards, but it is atmospheric and fun. Im only expecting it to get better.
sizynski (on 13 February 2009)
I'm guessing first week sales of about 20,000-30,000.
Soma (on 12 February 2009)
Definitely interested, will be buying it soon
naruto3336 (on 12 February 2009)
This game is amazing so I hope it is atleast a gold hitter.600-700k atmost in the world economic crisis.
oliist (on 12 February 2009)
F*** you world economy crisis. ;p
THIS & a lot of other Wii games will find their way right into my home.
Voltaire (on 11 February 2009)
Picking this up tommarow. Then all i need is HOTD and ill have all of the big 3!
Punisher (on 11 February 2009)
Ordered yesterday.
Should arrive before weekend.
Kenology (on 10 February 2009)
Just got this today! Will get HotD tomorrow.
DOLBYdigital (on 10 February 2009)
Just got the game today so I will post some impressions in a couple days. I have been avoiding the reviews even though they are good because I like to form my own impressions :)
fmc83 (on 08 February 2009)
First review is out and it seems to be good (8/10 at ign). Can't wait to get my hands on it
metalgearmatt (on 06 February 2009)
This seems like the type of game I'd buy if there's no other goods games coming out within the same time frame. However, since I own a PS3 I won't be getting this game :(
vess13 (on 06 February 2009)
*sigh* I won't be getting this cuz I can't spend too much money this year.
TopCat8 (on 05 February 2009)
Please, please let this game sell well. It looks so unique, and I would love to see something this innovative be embraced by the public.
Phoenix_Wiight (on 23 January 2009)
i will buy this game if people say its good after it comes out
DOLBYdigital (on 18 January 2009)
*Oh and a good amount of attention PUT on the story, script, and acting as well!*

Sorry for the double post but wanted to fix that ;)
DOLBYdigital (on 18 January 2009)
Yeah I will be broke this year. I am getting this day 1 along with House of the Dead:overkill and many, many others. I really like the new concept in this game, I can't say I have ever played as a scorpion or tarantula ;)

Throw in some great combos and death moves with bug guts everywhere and I'm sold. Oh and a good amount of attention but on the story, script, acting as well!
naruto3336 (on 11 January 2009)
whts HOTD?
megaman79 (on 11 January 2009)
Its going to be an interesting week.
This and HOTD in the same week for both US and EU. Tenchu the week before for US and SF4 doesn't release for another week after that.

We'll see where the Wii fans migrate, im guessing HOTD though.
TWRoO (on 31 December 2008)
Roll on Valentines day.
cacafina (on 24 December 2008)
this game should sell at lest 700k
shrimpy_boy11 (on 04 November 2008)
I really hope this sells well... its look like its shaping up to be a good game.

With this and DeBlob THQ have got some very good games for the Holidays.

Hope for 500k atleast

this is one of gaming's true hidden
gems... excellent and fresh.
spurgeonryan (on 04 January 2011)
well the legs were freaking outstanding,
the game was good for my kids, but too
boring for me..sorrry. dennis hopper was
in the cartoon alpha and omega so his
paycheck couldnt have been too big for
this, and the other guy just wanted to
work as a redneck again. these sailes
get my approbal
Salem (on 13 November 2010)
I liked it, it was fun playing as bugs
so to speak, too bad it didnt have more
Venox2008 (on 23 October 2010)
finished it today - great game :)
deserves more sales, very original, nice
level designs and it has a story too :)
oni-link (on 22 April 2010)
sold well for a game that features
spiders and scorpions as main
characters. c'mon it's original but
did anyone really get attached to these
characters? Also 150K within a year of
release for this type of game is a
disappointment but not a total failure;
as they can reuse the graphics engine
(if they could clean it up a bit) for
other games on the Wii!!
