Take-Two Interactive during the earnings call for the latest financials for the fiscal second quarter of 2019 announced shipment figures for Grand Theft Auto V have surpassed 100 million units. 

This figure is up from 95 million shipped for the quarter ending March 31, 2018.

Grand Theft Auto V is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

Teens and pre-teens who keep hearing about it on school. I'd also imagine that there is a large percentage of PS3/360 buyers who bought it again on the newer consoles or on PC.

Wonder if this game is coming to next gen consoles with Red Dead 2 level of graphics... Wouldn't that be killer and a major boost to its sales since everyone would be buying it for the 4th time.

I highly doubt any effort would be put into upgrading it for the next gen consoles. Expect BC though. That's all it needs.

That would be a shame if they do I must say. If you refuse to make a GTA VI because of politics, release a remaster in 2 years with some single player DLC and call it a day you just made a lot of money!.

They only said it's not coming out anytime soon. I guarantee they're already working on a sequel to the biggest cash printer of all time!
