  • BIT.TRIP BEAT manages 7th place in the Americas with only two weeks on sale during the month.
  • Gradius Rebirth, with three weeks on sale, only made it into 20th in the Americas (about 4,400 sold).
  • Pop'Em Drop'Em SAMEGAME released in the last week of March in the Americas, and while it did not make it into the top 20 for the month, it's 3,000 sales were 7th place for that week.
  • Family & Friends Party had the entire month on sale in the Americas, but only managed about 2,500 sold in that time.
  • For previously released titles, Onslaught jumps up the charts now that it has had a full month on sale in the Americas, and continues to do well so far in April.
  • World of Goo gets a post-GDC spike to regain the top spot for the month in the Americas.
  • Speaking of post-GDC spikes, sales for Strong Bad Episode 1 did nearly double for the last week of March in the Americas, consistent with what Telltale Games has said, but is still not even in the top 20 for the month.
  • For PAL, the one new entry is Texas Hold'em Tournament, which managed 9th place despite only four days on sale in the month.  It will likely show up again in April.
  • Family Table Tennis was on sale for two and a half weeks in PAL and placed 19th, with about 2,800 sold in March.
  • Jungle Speed was likewise on sale for two and a half weeks, but did not make the top 20 and ended up with about 1,800 sold for the month.
  • Snowboard Riot, which only had four days on sale in February in PAL regions, sees a big jump in March, though it'll likely slip back down a bit in April.
  • Onslaught slips down to third but is still selling well.  My Aquarium is back on top.

  • Once again, there are no new releases in the Americas chart for the Virtual Console (none even made it into the top 20).  In fact, the entire top 10 has the exact same set of games, though the lower half is shuffled around a bit.
  • Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen for the Super NES, on sale for the entire tracking period, came the closest to breaking into the top 20, with about 4,500 sold in March in the Americas.
  • None of the other new releases in the Americas ever got into the top 20 for a single week, indicating less than 4,000 sold total (and probably far less).  You'll notice that the trend of Virtual Console titles not on Nintendo platforms continue to struggle, as these other new releases are:
    • Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars for the Master System
    • Summer Games II for the Commodore 64
    • Bomberman '94 and DETANA TWIN BEE for the Turbografx 16
    • All of the new arcade titles: STARFORCE, Mappy, Gaplus, and Tower of Druaga
  • The trend in the Americas of new releases underperforming on the Virtual Console charts should end in April, as Super Punch Out!! for the SNES is already over 7,000 sold in its first week.
  • The one new entry in the PAL top 10 Virtual Console games (and in the top 20) is the same Super Punch Out!!, with most of the rest of the chart looking exactly the same as last month.
  • As with the Americas, all of the new releases not for Nintendo platforms failed to break into the top 20 for any given week (with less than 2,000 sold for the month).  These titles are:
    • Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair for the Genesis
    • All of the new arcade titles: STARFORCE, Mappy, Gaplus, and Tower of Druaga
  • Clu Clu Land for the NES likewise did not make it into the top 20 in PAL for any week in March.
  • Secret of Mana slipped down to 11th from 7th, but otherwise there was no movement in the rankings among the older releases - as with the Americas chart, the entire top five selling titles were exactly the same in March as in February.

Hope you enjoyed the charts this month.  Thanks to TWRoO and Michael and their helpers for collecting the PAL data.  As always, if you want to help collect Nintendo Channel data, send TWRoO a PM if you have a PAL Wii and myself a PM if you have an American or Japanese Wii.  As you can tell by the lack of Japanese figures this month, I *really* need a reliable volunteer with a Japanese Wii.

While I already gave you a sneak peek at Super Punch Out!!'s performance in the Americas in April, there was an even bigger title released in PAL on April 3rd - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for the Nintendo 64.  It sold roughly 4,000 in a single day and promises to make some waves in the PAL monthly chart for April.

@ Manuelf, I'd like to know about mexican numbers please :)

Impressed by My Aquarium, why is this Non Game selling so much?!

Good for Super Punch Out, the game is very very fun.

The storage solution boosting sales will be very interesting to see when April sales come in.

Until May 15th... we wait!

Unless Majora's Mask either appears on the Nintendo Channel data or drops down from it's top spot it's going to be tough to tell how much it has sold in April.

It will be really interesting to see how the April numbers turn out. Just to see if the storage solution boosted up some of the older games. So hopefully next month we can get the whole top 20, like we got in past months.

Go Majora!

Onslaught is steady as a rock. Looks like it's going to be a long-term regular in the top ten. Every time I think of coughing up $10 for it I hear, "That's why you're still a kid!" on infinite repeat and cringe.

Shouldn't SM64 and MK64 be coloured gold for Americas.

Otherwise... hurray!
