Ubisoft's latest title in their Assassin's Creed franchise, Assassin's Creed: Unity, has hit a new sales milestone in its 5th week on sale. The game has now sold more than four million worldwide at retail for the week ending December 13, according to VGChartz. This is up from the 1.97 million units the game sold in its first week.

When you combine all three versions of the game it has sold 4.03 million units worldwide at retail. The PlayStation 4 version accounts for half of the sales with 2.10 million units sold. The Xbox One version has sold 1.64 million units and the PC version has sold 290,597 units.

This year, Ubisoft has released a separate Assassin's Creed game for the last generation of consoles, Assassin's Creed: Rogue. The game in the same week has passed the one million mark, with sales of 1.06 million units. The PlayStation 3 version has sold 612,586 units and the Xbox 360 version has sold 447,431 units.

And I'm proud I at least managed to convince someone NOT to buy AC: Unity and buy Far Cry 4 instead. Ubisoft needs to learn when they do something right and when they do something terribly wrong.

Are people not getting bored with the mission structure of these games? Having to shadow your targets every year, yawn.

its alot of fun. its not as bad as people make it out to be. i have the xo version and after all the recent patches, the game plays fine. frame rate drops are now random and not very often. very playable and smooth

So in short; 4 million gamers are idiots who like buying buggy products and not reading reviews before purchasing games.

And this folks, is why broken games keep getting released.

I just downloaded it on New Year's Day (Bought a digital card for Black Flag & Unity for $30 :) ) and it's pretty solid. The only frame rate drops I have noticed so far are in the cut scenes. Nothing revolutionary, but I'm having fun with it.
