Nintendo: New Super Mario Bros. Wii Sales Top 10 Million in US - News

Nintendo of America has announced on Twitter that sales for New Super Mario Bros. Wii have topped 10 million units in the US. The game sold 14.7 million units worldwide in its first six months on sale making it one of the biggest sellers in Nintendo history.

"Wahoo! New Super Mario Bros. Wii just hit 10 million copies sold. That’s a lot of penguin suits!," read the tweet.

The side scrolling platformer launched in November 2009. The game was developed and published by Nintendo. There have been three other games in the series - New Super Mario Bros. for the DS, New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS and New Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U.
