Madden NFL 15 sold 1.15 million units across all platforms in its first week in the US. Sales for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game were well ahead of their predecessors with a 62 percent marketshare.

The PlayStation 4 was the top platform for Madden NFL 15 with sales of 404,476. Madden NFL 15 sold 310,560 units for the Xbox One, 252,052 units for the Xbox 360, and 183,893 units for the PlayStation 3.

The Madden NFL 15 Xbox One bundle helped push sales above the PlayStation 4. Xbox One sales jumped 84 percent to 59,533, while the PlayStation 4 saw sales increase 17 percent to 54,515. The PS4 also passed the four million mark in the US.

Madden NFL 15 launched on August 26 in North America and August 29 in Europe. The game is available for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

It still amazes me that a yearly update does so well....

It's why they're yearly updates. If they sold bad they take longer to make them.

I always think this. But I always remind myself how many Wrestling games I have got over the years. :( It makes me sad but I always have more wrestling games than anything.

Madden NFL 15 was the multi platform game with the biggest chance of of XOne version beating the PS4, with exclusive marketing deals and a loyal fan base. But even Madden sold better on PS4.

According to the game comparison tool, the first week sales were upwards of 1.3 million, actually, which is pretty good for only releasing on 4 consoles. I expect the game to sell 5-6 million across all consoles lifetime, probably 4 million this year. It sounds good, but it's pretty low compared to the last time the series hopped gens. When the series was on PS3, 360, Wii, PS2, GCN, XB, PSP, and DS it managed to scratch 10 million once, according to VGC data. Considering the series isn't likely to return to portables and will eventually only be on two consoles (probably for 17), I honestly only expect it to go down. With development costs going up and revenue going down, it's only a matter of time before it stops being annual.

"The Madden NFL 15 Xbox One bundle helped push sales above the PlayStation 4." Incorrect. The Madden bundle only did 41k in sales, so the One version would still be below the PS4 version.

He was saying that the Madden bundle helped push XBO CONSOLE sales above sales of the PS4 console, not that the XBO version of the game outsold the PS4 version.

That logic can be applied to basically any game, so why play videogames when you can do most things irl to an extent or another?
