The gap between the ps3 and the xbox360 is going to be fully decided by either Sony or Microsoft, the instant one of them announces a solid date for their next home console it will Kill the sales of their current gen system and the other one will run away with it.
I just bought a white 320gb model PS3 about the same time this happened, it be cool it was number 70 million lol. Long time in coming :).
It's becoming extremely likely that PS3 will overtake the XBox 360 much sooner than many of us thought. It has a shot by next holiday.

Considering the 360 only has Gears: Judgement in its exclusive lineup, I have a feeling that the PS3 will take the 360 before the next holidays start
