although it has some problems, it sits nicely next to street fighter 4 as a fun, but flawed fighter.

story: the cast from mortal kombat and DC universe are both infected with "rage", and both of their universes collide and mesh together.  at least thats the mess i got out of it. you follow 2 different story lines in the story mode (1 for the MK universe and 1 for the DC universe. each last about 2 hours a peace and neither really go in depth enough to make alot of sense.

presentation: ive always liked the MK cast. they are my favorite fighters in the genre. the load screens  are filled with really nice art from both universes. the graphics are MK through and through. the fighters look good and most of the backgrounds look good but a few of them look plain and boring. also, and im sure its intentional but their is a slight film grain on the game that makes the game look gritty and grainy. it really effects the fighters and its annoying. overall though the game looks good. the animations are still not up to standards but the game moves lightning quick. the sound is good and creepy with alot of base. any MK fan will be right at home here.

control: the control works like it should other then block. for some reason block only seems to work when it wants too. the game seems to get stuck during moves ordoesnt register a block during combos which ges annoying. other then that......

whats new: the DC fighters are great other the wonder woman. they actually fit in quite nice. the stages are still multi-tierd. you can fall off buildings into a minigame or go through walls in another mini game called "test your might". they both look cool but dont effect the outcome of the fights and are both nice additions. there is also another one where the camera zooms in on both fighters and you try to put together a combo while the other fighter trys to reverses it. also a cool diversion. the DC fighters dont have the 2 fatalities the MK fighters do. instead they have heroic brutalities. they are still cool  but the fatalities are watered down.

what do you get: the 2 story modes, online play, and a combo challenge. kudos to whoever can finish these.

overall: a good game and worth uying. alot of the DC fighters are really cool. batman and joker are awesome and are my favorite fighters in the game after scorpion. there are 20 fighters to choose from but not much in unlockables. the graphics could of been a little better and it doesnt have alot of the extras past MK games have but none have been this balanced either so its a fair trade off. one other thing bugs me about MK though. each fighter only has a few punches and kicks in their aresenal. why? with all the special moves why only 6 to 10 punches and kicks? and where are the throws? 1 throw for fighter in a fighting games these days is skimpy. with a few more throws per fighter and some more punches and kicks this could of been the difference between  a good fighter and my favorite fighter. its just not beep enough. still. there is enough here for a purchase if your a MK or DC fan.

Steadily selling around 2,500 units every week. With about 32,000 left it could hit one million in 13 weeks (in february).
Purely mathematically spoken, of course.
