Lets start off by saying the controls are actually decent for being a simulater on a console. The only part thats difficult is when going through the menus, you have to hold the right trigger and navigate with the right analong stick, which gets kind of annoying.

Their are many different trians from the 1840s to the 1910s eras. The sad part is you can only play in 20 year intervals. The map is of the united states it is divided into regions east coast, midwest, south east, mountains, and west coast. You cannot play the whole United Sates.

I find it really interesting that when one of your trains is going from station to station you can switch to first person. It lets you see the landscapes and the cities up close. If your like me and like to see the scenery that you will enjoy that.

As far as the gameplay. Their are four modes campaign, scenarios, free play, and sandbox. The campain has some long tasks your trying to create a track from coast to coast. The scenarios are challages for each region in the usa. Free play lets you start from any time period and any region with options, like how many competitors you want how much starting money and so on. Sandbox is just like free play but everything is free.

Overall the game needs a little work like expanding more and more freedom, maybe they will with updates. It is a good play and you can sometimes find yourself losing track of time.
