Slave Zero is one of the first games to come out for the dreamcast. Does it hold up?
Presentation:This is the games biggest downfall with games like Sonic Adventure and Soul Calibur before it they could've done a better job. The graphics look like Playstation and N64 graphics. The framerate also drops quite a bit when things get chaotic.
Gameplay:The gameplay tends to suffer if you're not into gaming. Since the game is a shooter and the Dreamcast has one analog stick the face buttons must be used to aim. It by all means is not hard to do but the jump button is up on the d pad which forces you to take you han of the aiming and press the jump button. It can take a while to get used to it.
Value:The single player seems a bit short with only 13 levels but s also quite fun featuring some neat boss battles. The multiplayer is also really fun but lacks enough game options.
Overall it's a decent game if you overlook the outdated geraphics and try to get used to the controls.
