First, cross the bridge then head west. Open the castle doors and follow the red carpet to the throne room. When you get to the throne room, approach the king and type BOW KING. TALK KING and he will ask you to bring back the three treasures that is scattered around Daventry. Leave the castle. Go west and cross the bridge. Go north. GET CARROT from garden. Go west and north. Approach the big tree and CLIMB TREE. Walk up to the egg. GET EGG and climb back down. Go south. MOVE ROCK here and LOOK IN HOLE that is revealed. GET DAGGER. Go north then east (x3). Wait for the fairy to cast a spell on you. Go east (x2) then south once. LOOK IN STUMP and GET POUCH. OPEN POUCH to get some diamonds. Go south (x3) and east (x4). TAKE BOWL then LOOK BOWL and FILL BOWL to get some stew. Go north, LOOK BEACH and GET PEBBLES. Go west then south to the walnut tree. GET WALNUT and open it to reveal a gold nugget. Go west then south. Swim through the lake then go north and west to the gingerbread house. Here, EAT HOUSE. (If the witch is not in the house, just leave then try again. Another way to find out whether the witch is inside is to KNOCK ON DOOR.) When you are inside the house, hide in the bedroom before the witch enters. When she is behind the stove, very carefully walk behind her and PUSH WITCH in. When she is destroyed, OPEN CUPBOARD and GET CHEESE. Enter the bedroom again and go over to the nightstand. GET NOTE and READ NOTE for a clue that will help you later in the game. Leave house and go north (x4) and west once. You are at the goat pen. OPEN GATE and SHOW CARROT to the goat. (Don't leave the gate open for too long, otherwise it will run away.) With the goat following you, go south (x3) then west once. Walk over to the bridge. A troll will appear blocking your path, but the goat will ram it into the river. Continue crossing the bridge. Walk over to the gnome and TALK GNOME. When he asks you for his name, enter IFNKOVHGROGHPRM. He will give you some magic beans. (If you continue to incorrectly guess his name, he will give you a gold key instead.) Head south (x2) and GET CLOVER from the patch. Go south, west (x2), south, west (x2), south, and west, then enter the woodcutter's hut. GIVE BOWL TO WOODCUTTER and he will give you a fiddle. GET FIDDLE and leave. Go west then south to the flower patch. PLANT BEANS and a beanstalk will appear. Climb the beanstalk all the way to the top. Walk east (x2), south, and east. GET SLINGSHOT from the hole in the tree, then go north and west. A giant carrying the magic chest will chase you. Either run around the tree and wait for him to go to sleep, or KILL GIANT to knock him out with your sling. (Doing the latter awards you the most points. Once you have defeated him, TAKE CHEST. ALTERNATE SOLUTION: If you have the gold key, you need to go south, east (x5) then south to reach the cave door. UNLOCK DOOR WITH KEY then climb up the three flights of stairs To get back to Daventry, either climb down the beanstalk or exit through the cave (the door will be unlocked). Go right if you came through the cave, otherwise go east (4x) and south (x2). Wait here for a little elf. TALK ELF to get a magic ring. Go west (x4) and wait here until a giant condor appears. The condor will swoop down. When he does, keep jumping until he grabs hold of you. After he takes you to the other side of Daventry, go west and GET MUSHROOM. Head back east and fall down the hole, then go south and west. Get close to the rat and GIVE CHEESE TO RAT. After the rat retreats to his hole, OPEN DOOR and enter. Here, go south. Go back north and PLAY FIDDLE to make the leprechauns disappear. Go south again and GET SHIELD that is sitting on the floor next to the king's chair. You should also GET SCEPTRE. Walk up the stairs on the left and EAT MUSHROOM to shrink yourself and get through the hole. Go west and north (x3) to appear at the well. Go to the right side of it and LOWER ROPE.CLIMB ROPE and climb down. When you are at the bottom, press [=] to swim. Now CUT ROPE. You will automatically get the bucket. FILL BUCKET and DIVE. Swim to the cave then get out then go west. THROW WATER AT DRAGON to put out its fire. It will move the big boulder blocking the doorway. GET MIRROR. ALTERNATE SOLUTION: If you haven't got the bucket of water, get close to the dragon then kill it by typing THROW DAGGER AT DRAGON. The dragon will be slain on the floor, and you get less points for this. Exit through the doorway then go east, south (x2), then east (x2) to reach the castle. Cross the bridge and go east.
