Most of these won't work until you get to the second chapter, unless you give the townspeople stuff like everyday, so space it out a little bit. You can tell if you're friends with a person by walking by them, and the look at you. Note that this won't work if you're in a building. All of the tools given to you by the townspeople are pretty much useless, but they are tokens of friendship of those people, so you might want to collect them.

| cat | Become friends with Romana and sometime in the fall of the second chapter, she will stop by and ask you if you want the cat. it will eat out of your dog's bowl, so you're going to need to put out food for both of them. |
| goat | In the second chapter, go to Van's stall in the spring and you can buy it for 4000G, but if you haggle, you can get it for 3200G at the least if you're friends with him. |
| watering can(G) | be friends with Romana and go into her room one day, and she'll tell sebastian to give it to you. it can only water one square at a time, but it looks pretty cool. |
| strange sickle | become friends with gustafa, and go into his yurt(house) and he will give it to you. |
| strange hoe | become friends with tim(the innkeeper) by giving him milk and eggs ig you're cheap like me, and go into the inn one day and he'll give it to you. |
| weird hoe | become friends with vesta and go into the building next to her house and she'll give it to you. |
| weird sickle | become friends with dr. hardy and go into his house one day and he'll show it to you(this only wiorks in chapter 2 or later) |
| fishing pole(G) | become friends with galen in the first year, and in the second chapter, go talk to him. he will ask you if you like fishing, and if you say yes, he'll give it to you. |
| goat milker | buy a goat from van and he'll throw in the milker too. |
| duck | buy a pond, and the summer of the second chapter, wake up after your wife, and she'll tell you that there are ducks in the pond(your chicken coop needs to have room in order to get them. |
| alarm clock | go to grant's house when he's in there, and he'll give it to you, but its kinda useless in my opinion. |
| seed maker | talk to takakura and he'll talk to you about the seed maker, but you can get a free one if you become friends with daryll the mad scientist and he'll give you one to "spread his genius" |
| horse | in the summer of the first year, takakura will get you a horse and you can ride him all across the valley. |
| ruby's spice | become friends with ruby by giving her flowers and then follow her into the kitchen at the inn. she'll... |
