There is a way to remove the speed limit of 60 MPH. Rapidly press the gas button, and you will build up speed to about 90 regardless of the character. Note: This only works with the car.

2nd to Mario Kart 64.... but being 2nd.. is preeeeettty darn good, very very fun... sales are deserved.

I think Mario Kart 64 multiplayer was way better. But the solo experience of this game was awesome!
