To absorb magic shots, hold Charlotte's Personal Skill button (creates the magic shield). Any shot hitting this shield bounces off or is absorbed. When absorbed, there is a chance the projectile is turned into an item she can equip in the sub-weapon (Hunter Skill) menu.
The number spells absorbed will increase the output potency of Charlotte's spells (more damage, etc.) and can be tracked by the green energy meter in the Offensive Equipment menu.
Acidic Bubble - From the Glasya Labolas (gargoyle dog thing) in stages 3 and 4.
Dark Inferno - From Dracula in stage 6.
Death Scythe - From Death in stage 5.
Delta Spark - From Astarte in stage 7 (this is a DLC stage).
Demon Seed - From the Man-Eating plant in stage 4.
Energy Flow - From the witch in black (riding the broom) in stage 4.
Feather Blades - From the harpies in stage 5.
Fire Ball - From the Pillar of Bones.
Flame Shot - From the Fire Demons in stage 3 and 4.
Ghost Chaser - From the Dullahan in stage 4 and 6.
Heal - From the witch in black (riding the broom) in stage 4. Lure the enemy to some stairs and slide on the stairs to cause injury; as you absorb spells, Charlotte's melee may kill the enemy outright.
Hellfire - From Dracula in stage 6.
Ice Fang - From the Sea Demon in stage 5 and 6.
Ice Needles - From the Frost Shades in stage 2.
Nightmare - From the Malachi (demon with the squid face) in stage 5 and 6.
Piercing Beam - From the green Nova skeletons in stage 5 and 6.
Poison Spores - From the Moldy Corpse in stage 2.
Raging Fire - From the Minotaurs or Bone Dragons in stage 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Sickle Moon - From the Imps in stage 3, 4, and 5.
Splash Needle - From the Merman in stage 1.
Summon Musketeer - From the Skeleton Musketeer in stage 5.
Summon Skeleton - From the Skeleton (Bone Thrower) in stage 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Thunderbolt - From the Storm or Thunder Demon in stage 6.
