All of the galaxy

First, go to the game directory: /GameDataSets/Classic_01/GameData/Common Now backup the Spreadsheets.mob file. Right-click the file, select Open With, and click WinRAR (you will need to install this program). Extract the file racemodifiers.txt then right-click it and go to properties. Unselect the read-only box. Open it in Notepad and go down to the second table (RacePickPoints). You will see a list of races followed by three columns. The first two are species and race. Leave these. The last number in each row is the number of pick points you are given at the start of the game. Change the value of 0 for EVON to 1,000 or more. Now save the file and tick the read-only box again. Click ok. Create a Spreadsheets folder where Spreadsheets.mob is located, and dump the text files there.

Lots of potential for awesomeness in this game, but most of it was only half-way implemented, and the rest not at all.

The extensive modding community really helped though. Upping armada size to 255 made combat more interesting, even though it kinda broke the system.. =P

This was such a letdown. The fleet combat was lousy and gave you almost no control, and the technology and planetary development was incomprehensible and bogged down in micromanagement.

MoO2 is where it's at.
