Rename your soldier
To rename your soldier, which the game by default does not allow you to do, you must edit the file "Battlefield 2Profiles001Profile.con" and change the first value, in the quotes, to whatever you wish your soldier's name to be. For example, change:

LocalProfile.setName "defaultPlayer"

to

LocalProfile.setName "<your new name>"

I think this was one of the first PC games where 2GB ram was practically mandatory.

Its amazing at how well this game has handled its age. It is almost 4 years old and is still the best large multiplayer game for any platform. Its amazing that no one has been able to really recreate the experience or even just copy the experience.

If you throw in all the mods for this game it is easily one of my all time top 5 games on all platforms.
