Use the "Unlimited lives" trick to get as many lives as desired, then save the game. If you get stuck on a level, do not save. Instead, quit the game and reopen it. You will have as many lives as you previously saved and be at the same location.

A friend of mine used to love this game. I didn't see anything special about it.
