Super Saiyan Goku
Having Goku transform into Super Saiyan during the final Freiza fight allows him to go from being a pretty useless character to a kick-ass character that can put Freiza away pretty easily. To do so you need to let one of the characters die to enrage Goku. Keeping with the canon storyline you should let Krillin die but I usually choose Chaiotzu (any human will work).
