The best game ever made. There are many things enjoyable about this game, check out the full review to find out more in SONIC ADVENTURE! gh gh gh gh

The gods of nostalgia unleash a masterpiece of perfection.

With speed comes speed and speed comes speed. SEGA/SONIC TEAM's Sonic The Hedgehog has been following his rainbow. Made to be the ultimate video game mascot and successor to Alex Kidd that would surpass Nintendo's Super Mario Brothers, Sonic debuted in 1991 with SONIC THE HEDGEHOG(1991) for the SEGA MASTER SYSTEM and SEGA MEGADRIVE GENESIS and SEGA GAME GEAR and SEGA NOMAD and burst through the sound barrier with cutting edge speed. The game was so successful that it spawned sequel after sequel and Sonic would speed on to be consoles such as the SEGA MARK(s), SEGA BASE SYSTEM, SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, SEGA MEGADRIVE GENESIS, SEGA GAME GEAR, SEGA NOMAD, SEGA MEGA JET, SEGA CD, SEGA 32X, SEGA SATURN, SEGA DREAMCAST, ARCADE, and so many more. And as fast as the wind, Sonic was on top of the world.

A speed to the third dimension had been anticipated greatly. Sonic XTREME was to be released on the SEGA SATURN but was unfortunately cancelled. Sonic had made other jumps to 3D, and 3D title using base gameplay of Sonic was in the works. Released as a testlevel prototype in the SEGA SATURN's Sonic Jam's SONIC WORLD and once nicknamed as "Sonic RPG, the game was being developed for fellow masterpiecemate SEGA SATURN. The SEGA DREAMCAST was soon revealed, and it transformed into development for the platform and the game would be planned to mix speed with so many other styles. With 128BITS to be processed, speed would be faster than ever. It was an ADVENTURE. It was SONIC ADVENTURE.

And so, with promotion, hype, and anticipation far larger than any other SEGA game to date, SONIC ADVENTURE was released for the SEGA DREAMCAST's Japan Launch Time on December 28th, 1998 (.12.28.98). It, as well as many other games released on the same time, was a success. On September 9th, 1999 (.9.9.99) it would then receive more power from polish and would be released to the US on the SEGA DREAMCAST's US Launch Date. Success was reached again. And on October 14th, 1999 (.10.14.1999.) and November 3rd, 1999 (.11.03.99.), more success was reached with more launch titles and more launched systems. The game was a smash hit, and even spawned sequels.

And then I played it. And I had be unleashed to the awesomeness and SPOCIOUSness that is video games. This game is what released my interest. This game was it. This game was part of the best things that ever happened to me.

There are so many great things about this game; I don't know where to start. Using the fantastic technology of the SEGA DREAMCAST, the game showcased some of the greatest graphics of its time. With sufficient framerate and fantastic character models and amazing environments, the game was a sparkling gemstone. It, as well as many other games on the same platform, were known fort heir great graphics. And they still have the energy today.

The game had a killer use of Full Motion Videos and cutscenes, in fact, the game even opens with cutting edge cutscenes. The game starts up as well the console. With highly polished and matching title screens and menus, you get to select so many of what makes this game so great. The Adventure Mode, the Time Trial Attack, the Options, the Online Play where you could enter the game's home page and submit your rankings. It was so awesome. Starting off with Sonic, you can see an Instruction Mode for the game, where the abilities of your characters are explained very thoroughly. You can then start up the game and into its story.

Doctor Julian Ivo "EGGMAN" Robotnik has setup another attempt to conquer the world. The God Of Destruction, Chaos The Water Monster, has been released after being sealed for thousands of years. It's up to Sonic The Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower The Fox, Knuckles The Echidna, Amy Rose The Rosy Rascally Hedgehog, and newcomers Big The Cat & Froggy and E102Gamma The Robot to unravel the mysteries. This story was jawdroppingly incredible.

As mentioned, the game blends multiple styles with Sonic's trademark speed. The titular character, Sonic The Hedgehog, finally makes his jump to the third dimension in action-sighted, platform packed, and speed filled stages. Using the Spin Charged Dash and the brand new Spin Homing Dash Attack as well many others, Sonic speeds through his levels into the Capsule full of animals. It was insanely fun and still is. Miles "Tails" Prower The Fox's are very similar to Sonic's stages, and it adds a heavily fun racing theme where you race your opponents to Capsule Full Of Animals and Goal. Like Sonic's, it was fun and still is. To The Capsule!

Knuckles The Echidna adds a new Treasure Hunting genre to the games where you control the last of his kind to find the scattered shards of the Master Emerald, focusing on exploration. These levels were fun. Amy Rose The Rosy Rascally Hedgehog then adds a new level of hardcore platform, keeping the speed and racing to a Balloon from the original robot, Zero. These levels, for their originality, challenge, and fun were a welcome addition.

E102Gamma the Robot brings in shooting to franchise, with greatly done and polished fun shooting levels to the franchise, another welcome addition. Big The Cat & Froggy, inspired by the success of SEGA BASS FISHING and SEGA MARINE FISHING, brings in fishing; a warm, fuzzy, fun, relaxing way to play. All characters' objectives are unique as you play through the story, and it will bring foreverlasting enjoyment. When all 6 characters are completed, something special shall happen.

Each character goes through the new and fun ADVENTURE FIELDS, the hubworlds that also stay true to the RPG themes of the game. Here, you can explore the worlds of this game at any place and pace you want, advancing your story. A welcome, fun way to do things. There are a sufficient amount of ADVENTURE FIELDS stored in the game, matching with the games ADVENTURE theme. There is a whole variety of missions to complete in this game, ranging from LEVEL C to LEVEL A and even more. There are fast loading times and a killer save feature on your VMUs.

Speaking of VMUs, the ALife System From NiGHTS iNTO DREAMS' NiGHTOPIA/NS (released on the SEGA SATURN, both SPOCIOUS video games and video game consoles), using new creatures: the Chao in the many Chao Gardens. A very fun extra simulation to be found in this game and a very unique feature. As mentioned before about VMUs, the game uses the Virtual Memory Units/Virtual Memory Systems/Virtual Memory Cards/Virtual Memories for saving and even playing. You get to play with Chao there and minigames as well, all fun. There are some awesome effects to be found using the VMUs.

With the gameplay, graphics, presentation, and polish described, the game completely aced and dominated in that area. As it did in the others. The sound of it is as good as ever, with some of the best music in video gaming ever. There are so many memorable tracks, you will be jamming as you play the game. And as Sonic enters the next dimension and next generation, voice acting is brought. The voice acting was high quality and many memorable dialogue and lines are featured in the game. Another cool feature is how the dialogue may have many runins with the lip syncing, which is also what is so memorable. The subtitles look very memorable as well. The nostalgia is endless. And to add to foreverlasting, you can connect the HomePage and do many interactions.

Everything about this game is so nicely created. There is alot to do and time supply of awesomeness. SPOCIOUSNESS. And adding everything in this game, there are so many levels and things to do and play. The game was a huge success everywhere, getting high reviews from so many places. The game would then become the SEGA DREAMCAST's best selling game of all time, inducted into the SEGALLSTARS Games for the console with multiple millions of manufactured copies released. The game was incredible.

And, like Jesus, Martin Luther King, Jr., and so many other things great, some may not understand the greatness that is this game. And those who do not can just ABSOLUTELY perish. I understand this game. This game was a true masterpiece. What shall not receive mercy is those who can say this game brought Sonic's decrease in quality. That is absolutely not true.

The game was a huge success, all privately, critically, and publicly. When it came out, there were hardly any complaints. Everybody liked it. And for the reviews of the following games in the Sonic franchise, some people say that Sonic's jump to the third dimension was rough despite the blatant fact that they were all BEGGING for third dimensional Sonic game to come out prior to the game and its console's release. When it came out, everybody liked it. And then, they complain about it unfairly a couple of whiles later. Since this game was such as triumph when it was released, any hate on this game now is simply irrelevant to its success. It is not SEGA's fault if you decide to change your opinion. You liked this game so much, so if there's anybody to blame for any drop in quality, it's yourselves.

But there is no need for complaints. Because this game will always be a masterpiece.

I'm reluctant to believe this game sold 2.4 million. Just seems high considering the amount of consoles sold and I don't recall any bundling.
