Capcom published 'Rocketmen: Axis of Evil' bombs in more ways than just a pun, while N+ dominates the charts, like a good ninja should.

Yes, unfortunately the critcally-maligned Rocketmen: Axis of Evil has one of the worst starts in quite some time, thanks to poor reviews (51% from gamerankings) due to the control scheme. Add in a Playstation Network version, and what could of been a very strong title, wound up well below my 8,000-9,000 3-day expectations. Could it improve? Sure. But it's very unlikely. It has one of the worst rankings for an Arcade game, currently.
Other notes include:
- I modified the LTD entries for TMNT and Worms HD. If you've payed attention to Major Nelson's charts, he's usually had both titles a little bit higher than mine. I had weighted (wrongly) against them a little bit. I increase their LTD sales by roughly 7%, which should make them more accurate. As you'll notice, both are in the top 10, with Worms HD recieving a major boost, winding up #3 in terms of overal real revenue for the week (with over $45,000)
- N+ sees it's 3rd #1 week in a row. Probably not a new thing to happen in the history of the XBLA, but the fact is that it is seeing incredible legs - it only dropped about 10% from last week, signaling that consumer intrest and demand for N+ is massive. By week 5, it could be challenging Rez HD's first month. This is incredible because N+ had a 3 day opening of half of Rez HD. It's multiplier is already 4.72 - with 2 weeks to track for it's first month.
- Triggerheart Excelica has a poor first total week. Yes, it went up, but typical titles (even frontloaded Rez) see a 100% increase vs. their first 3 days. Exelica, however, saw only a 77% increase. A strong trend is the fact that the game is still dominated by Japanese users - 45% of the entire userbase (just below 10k) are Japanese 'cards. Because of the lack of global interest, I expect a pretty bad drop next week (-70%) unless it can break out of it's current trend.
- Poker Smash ends it's first month with 43,000 units, and $430,000 revenue. It had a pretty weak multiplier (4.3x), but for a game that was supposedly made by 3 people in a garage, I am sure that the sales of PS aren't too shabby.

You'll notice Screwjumper has negative sales: the # of users with achievements tracked was reduced for the week...Odd, but it happens once in awhile, expecially with such poor selling games. Maybe everyone is trying the free version at Instantaction.com?
Oh, and on a personal note, I'm doing this update entirely from the Denver International Airport. My plane flight was cancelled, so I did the report here.
Rumored XBLA Games: Bliss Island (800MSP?) and Brain Challenge (800MSP?)
Personally, I'm not excited for Bliss Island. Brain Challenge is a tossup. It's a DS/Mobile game that went up against the Nintendo behemoth and lost. I see Bliss Island selling maybe 3,000 units, and Brain Challenge at 4,000 units, if it's lucky.

Yeah, I love Lumines, and that's why i didn't download Lumines Live. I have it for PSP, and didn't want to spend that money twice, especially being grossly overpriced.
No. No DLC has been factored into gross revenue(s).
Games like Lumnies, Soltrio Solitare, Band of Bugs, and a few specific other games are HUGE on the DLC side of things. I'd imagine Lumnies has made a few extra hundred thousand USD from the DLC, as I've heard (antecdotaly) that the content packs are must-haves for Lumnies fans, and are rabidly purchased by the hardcore playerbase that Lumnies has established.....I mean, the game has sold 170,000 units mostly @ the $15 pricepoint.
I'm surprised that Lumines Live has sold so well...

ssj........Rocketmen has one of the lowest 3-day sales of any XBLA title since I started the charts....Not good.
However, it does have the PSN version, which could be selling like hotcakes for all I know.
rocketmen is doing pretty decently. Good to see that it is.
I'll be putting up new games today. I've been out of it due to lack of sleep, but there'll be 2 new ones for Japan, and US for the SSBB week.
