ESRB Mobile App Adds Photo Ratings Searches - News

The Electronic Software Ratings Board, or ESRB, has had a mobile app out for a while now that gave parents and concerned consumers access to their database from the palm of their hands. Today they've rolled out a new feature to make it even easier for parents to stay informed on what their kids want to play.
I use an app called Snaptell to check prices on certain media products when I'm in a store, snapping a photo of the cover which searches their database and returns the best prices online and in my area. The ESRB is using that very technology so parents can search the ESRB database for detailed ratings informations.
Snap a picture of the cover of the game, and the app will bring back a detailed ratings summary, describing the content of the game and the justification of the rating given. Don't mind a little mindless violence so long as the language is clean? This new feature can help you out.
