New title 'Arkadian Warriors' sells briskly, while new 'Arcade Hits' gobble up many top-10 positions.
This week, Hack-N-Slash Arkadian Warriors debuts in the #1 position, dominating other new release, Gripshift, and XBLA hits.
In just 3 and 1/2 days, Arkadian Warriors debuts with the highest sales ever for the VGChartz.com XBLA Sales charts. After corrections to the whole of the chart, Arkadian Warriors debuted higher than closest competitor 'Undertow' by almost 100%.
Hybrid Puzzle/Racer Gripshift also has a decent start, at 1,900 units. Despite already being on the PSP handheld console, and Playstation Network (for PS3), the developers of Gripshift have high hopes for their first XBLA entry.
And rounding out the top 10, 4 of the 5 new XBox Live Arcade Hits chart strongly in the top-10, with Marble Blast Ultra, a game nearly 2 years old, taking a strong increase over last week.

Other misc. notes:
Accuracy on these charts is going up, and will be very, very good in the next few weeks. With the fall Xbox 360 Dashboard update, trial games are no longer tracked. For new releases, this means that sales are going to be coming 100% from games sold, not just achievements. So we can be fairly certain new titles are going to have great accuracy. They're still estimates, but they should be very close (within 10%) of actuals.
And for the reasoning behind lowering the games by roughly 23% overall: since we now have near-actuals to compare sales on (via actual userbase rather than achievement base for new games), I have found out the totals were a bit high on new releases, and older games. Therefore I adjusted most of the numbers. After adjustments, accuracy increased even more vs. Major Nelson/Microsoft actual positioning. This week, 7/10 titles were in Major Nelson's top 10, and 9/15 were in his top 10. The lowest title was 'Asteroids & Asteroids Deluxe' at #20, taking out the freebies and Arcade titles.

I agree. Definately not enough RPGs or Sim games on XBLA.
However, juding by what AW has done this week, more will be on the way - it's already sold another 6,000+ units in 3 days.
I just want more RPGS on xbox live, why i like AW so much, cause well all pretty much live games so far are puzzles casuals or clasic games, that or aim and shoot and kill everything ~-~. Wheres the rpgs!
Arkadian Warriors came out of nowhere for sales. IMO, it's another great example of the fact that unique, new, fresh games (atleast for the XBLA service) tend to do very well. Gripshift is a great game as well, but there are a small bit of racers and puzzle games, whereas there are no hack-n-slash games aside from old console classic games.
Looking at the updated figures (ie, the past 48hrs since I did the chart), the same ratio of sales of AW vs. Gripshift is still about 3:1.

I am sure that revenue for Xbox Live, outside of the games is very massive. One can only wonder how much money Microsoft made on the Shivering Isles Expansion for Oblivion ($30 USD).
The psn is catching up rapidly, with 1 warhawk map I expect sony to earn over 3 M dollars. $7.99 per map, and about 700k warhawk games all having online. Even if only half the user upgrade sony will make a heft amount of money.
Also microsofts revenue should double soon, with more movies and more xbox originals.
$111.7m is the total revenue generated for XBLA since it came out...On the week, sales were $932,000, but unlike other weeks, Carcassonne sales didnt inflate the charts so much (its about 10% of what it was at it's fever pitch)
