Ah, the first ever weekly XBLA sales charts. And it's a doozie. We see the partial effects of what a 48hr free game does, as well as a debut game seems to bomb.

My Notes:

Carcassanone has a beyond-huge boost. This increase in sales is litterally a 50% boost in total users in a 48hr period. Expect a strong hold next week, as more users that downloaded, activate the game and start unlocking achievements. Also, this game alone is responsible for nearly 30% of every downloaded game.

As for revenue, sales are pretty meager: taking out Carassanone's $542,000, XBLA revenue was only $850,000 for the week. Not great, but not horrible either.

The 2 new titles were what caused such bad numbers: Both Shrek N Roll and Screwjumper! seemed to of had very tepid debuts. Nevertheless, they should do well next week.

Switchball and Word Puzzle did very, very well on the week. They both account for 20% of total XBLA revenue for the week. Puzzle Quest: COTW and Hexic 2 also did great this week.

[b]Next Week's Wednsday Title:[/b] Undertow

Expect a huge opening for Undertow. It's been anticipated for months now, and is a full UE3-Powered 16 player shooter for under 1200 points. Could do great for XBLA next week, reviving a rather week opening for the newbies.

Also, I apologize for the meagerness of the charts. There's no LTD total on them, or release dates. Next week, I will correct that. But for now, please enjoy the charts!

Yes. I just checked his list, and refferenced mine. There's a post on the Microsoft Forums.

It seems that I'm fairly close to Major Nelson's - sans the new releases (he tracked an extra 36hrs), and the freebies (which he doesn't track).

Of my charts, 7 of 12 games I tracked are in his top-10. The only games not there are Geo. Wars (which is a pack-in), Texas Hold'Em (same), and Screwjumper! Which is a real new game. I definately screwed up on Screwjumper!, but I think next week I'll of over-represented it, and fixed the charts.

Now, having said that, I did increase the overall sales for each game vs. last week's "LTD" post by about 35%. So take that into consideration.

Hexic 2 had a good week because it was free in South Korea (instead of Carcassone), so I suspect some people created Korean gamertags to get it.

Most of those sales are excellent in my opinion. Even at getting only 60% of the total revenue, getting $10k-$20k per WEEK - would rock. That's $20k-$50k monthly income for a studio.

Once Home is implemented, I guarentee that the info will become easier.

All that would need to be done is to track and update home avatars with what games they play, and find out if they have trophies, or find a way to obtain info if they actually bought it.

As for Texas Hold'Em - its probably the fact that some people want to play it on a X360, with friends that they know, versus random hold-em rooms. IMO, it's crazy, but the Hold'Em userbase on X360 is huge (around 600-700,000 users).

Good stuff stickball - it will be interesting to see the effect of holiday hardware sales on Arcade games - especially the older titles. If sales are to current users that are just upgrading you would not expect to see much of a jump for older titles but if sales are going to new users there might be a good increase of Arcade game sales for a month or two after the holiday.

Reverie - I logged intenet traffic, and extrapolated the data, therefore it's not entirely original. It's impossible at the moment to actually get real up-to-the-date numbers for every game, as some game's leaderboards are refreshed deleting every gamercard that's played the game, and some don't reveal, or make finding numbers, easy.

Great! So is this from vgchartz' original sources, did you log net traffic somewhere? Also, there's a little typo. The game's called "Carcassone", with 2 c's. It's a fun board game, and I hope it will show up on WiiWare sometime.
