Nordic Games to Release We Sing, a Singstar-like Game for Wii - News
by VGChartz Staff , posted on 13 August 2009 / 6,351 ViewsIf you ever wanted to play Singstar but couldn't because you only had a Wii, maybe you'll like this news. Nordic Games, a Sweden-based developer, is preparing a singing game to be released in this holiday season for the console, and, well, it does remind you a lot of Singstar (the developer itself admits Sony's franchise was a benchmark for the game and that he finds the comparison a compliment)

So far, five songs of the 30 the game will feature have been confirmed, those are:
Lady Gaga – Poker Face
Coldplay – Viva La Vida
Lily Allen – The Fear
Tom Jones – Delilah
Kylie Minogue – Loco-Motion
The game will support up to four players singing at the same time, with four different microphones, and will be released before the end of the year

Karlstad, Sweden: Nordic Games Publishing AB today proudly announces We Sing, the first singing game to utilise four microphones, allowing four players to sing at the same time. We Sing will be released in time for the festive season, exclusively for the Wii. It’s not going to be a quiet Christmas day. Now the whole family can sing their hearts out at the same time to their favourite tracks.
Agreements have been made with all the leading record companies including EMI, Warner, Universal Music and many Independent Record Labels to source a diverse selection of quality modern and back catalogue songs from best selling artists.
We Sing features 30 chart topping original songs and videos from artists, including:
Lady Gaga – Poker Face
Coldplay – Viva La Vida
Lily Allen – The Fear
Tom Jones – Delilah
Kylie Minogue – Loco-Motion
We Sing features Solo and a variety of Party modes, allowing players to sing together as a group or competitively.
Pelle Lundborg, Publishing Director, Nordic Games says, “Singing games are enjoyed the most when played in groups, and this has been a major focus of development since day one. The name says it all. It is about friends and family having fun and singing together, and the use of four microphones adds a new perspective.”
“We have involved a team of music and game industry professionals to deliver a product that has a genuine AAA artist line up, and with a brief to deliver a music set that has ‘something for everyone”, states Pelle Lundborg.
Pelle Lundborg adds, “SingStar is the benchmark for this genre and the level of thought that they have applied to their games is astounding. It would be a compliment to be compared to them, but in reality this is the beginning of the We Sing journey, and the product will continue to develop over time.

Yeah, this does seem like something that should have come out during the Wii's first year.
And can a more knowledged gamer answer this question, is 30 songs for a sing-along game a decent amount?
