by William D'Angelo , posted 15 hours ago / 510 ViewsDeveloper Spry Fox announced the cozy massively multiplayer online game, Spirit Crossing, will launch for the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on November 16.
"We’ve spent the last five years developing Spirit Crossing with the mission of providing a welcoming space for anyone craving meaningful connections," said Spry Fox CEO and co-founder David Edery.
"Now as a newly independent and employee-owned studio, we look forward to finally taking the ‘beta’ label off the game and putting it out into the world. Our playtesters have repeatedly surprised us with their kindness and creativity. It’s been so rewarding to watch them connect with each other in their own ways and at their own speed, and we look forward to seeing how their communities grow in the months ahead."

Spirit Crossing is a cozy massively multiplayer online game about making a home in a strange, beautiful, and ever-changing world. Built around shared joy and creative expression, the game invites players to wander, gather, build, and occasionally do absolutely nothing together. Spend the day chasing glory in a fishing tournament, painting murals with your neighbors, or sitting side by side as someone plays a tune into the sunrise.
Spirit Crossing takes friendship seriously, even if nobody involved is acting particularly serious. Its unique friendship progression system lets relationships grow naturally over time, gradually unlocking features such as proximity chat, 2-player emotes, gift-giving, and instant teleportation. But friendship is never all-or-nothing: highly customizable social permissions let players decide exactly how they want to interact with everyone they meet.
Beyond exploring and socializing, players can go all in on personal style. Spirit Crossing‘s extensive avatar customization allows players to dress for dramatic entrances, cozy game nights, goth picnics, spa days, or whatever else the mood calls for. Then there’s the equally important question of where all that excellent taste is going to live. Players can decorate and build out spaces from the ground up, whether that be a personal home or a shared community Waystation.
Out in the world, players will encounter delightfully peculiar locals, from humans and talking bears to wandering spirits. Some may need help. Some may need a little company. Some may simply need time. With patience and care, the inhabitants of the Crosslands will begin to open up, revealing their stories—and returning a little kindness in turn.
