Publisher Crunchy Leaf Games and developer Twigames announced the narrative survival RPG, Hollow Home, will launch for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on January 27, 2027.

"We started working on Hollow Home in the spring of 2022, a few weeks after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began," said Twigames founder Valerii Minenko. "At first it was our way to deal with what was happening around us. Making a game about the war while you are still living through it is hard, and there were weeks when it was hard to think about anything else.

"We kept going because we want people around the world to see what this war means for ordinary families who stay in their city and try to get through one more day. Hollow Home was funded on Kickstarter in August 2026, where 558 backers took the campaign to 140 percent of its goal, we thank all of them."

Inspired by Disco Elysium and This War of Mine, Hollow Home puts the player in the role of Maksym, a 14-year-old boy alone in a city under siege, trying to survive.

In Hollow Home, there are no weapons, no battles, no combat. Instead, Maksym faces impossible choices and challenges no teenager should face. The weight of a life dismantled, the impact of war on those living in it and the moral cost of every small choice. Relationships are key. The people Maksym meets can help him get through each day, and every conversation can change what happens next. Maksym will have to make choices and learn to live with the consequences.

The game is inspired by real events of the Russian invasion and the siege of Mariupol. Maksym’s journey begins on the last normal day he will remember, 24 hours before the invasion. The city is still whole. When he wakes up the next morning, everything has changed.

Key Features:

  • Deep dialogue and branching questlines that shape a story with multiple endings. Every character has a story, every conversation is a choice that may carry a heavy weight, shaping the world and yourself. You will have to prioritize, sacrifice and decide what and who matters most.
  • A city that changes with each passing day. Three explorable districts, shaped by the siege.
  • No weapons, no battles. Your biggest challenges are moral decisions based on human connections with the characters you meet along your journey.
  • Made in Ukraine. Developed by Twigames in Kyiv, a team living through the same war and researching the stories of those who survived the siege.
