Valve Says Steam Deck 2 Plans 'Not Really' Affected by RAM Crisis - News

Valve software developers Pierre-Loup Griffais and Jeff Leinbaugh speaking with IGN revealed plans for Steam Deck 2 are moving forward.
Valve has previously stated they are waiting on a "generational leap" in performance before releasing a Steam Deck 2. This likely also means the decent performance to price ratio.
"Not really," said Griffais when asked if the RAM shortages have impacted Valve's plans. "We've talked before about how we want to make sure there's a very delineated performance improvement for something like a future Steam Deck, and I think we're still looking at it in the same way.
"It's just a matter of looking at the current conditions and seeing how and when we can deliver something like that. But from what we're working on, as far as the user experience goes and what the product that we're trying to build goes, it's very similar goals."

I don't personally care about GPU power much, just VRAM. Imo, if you gave the original N64 32GB of high speed ram it could perform modern miracles. Gamecube with 64GB of ram? I'd prefer it over modern stuff.
Valve says it isn't affecting them but if they release it with a low capacity and high price, it will fail and it will affect it then.
US government needs to support building more ram factories, we need more ram, 100s of billions is being siphoned out to Korea because of the global ram shortage, and is the main reason laptops, GPUs, and computers are more expensive.
Because it won't use RAM 🤯
what do you guys think a Steam Deck 2 mean to Nintendo Switch 2? From my POV, although their player base is different, a new Steam Deck 2 still press Switch 2’s intrinsic value.
Not a damn thing, especially at the price a Steam Deck 2 is going to sell for.
