Xbox Disc-to-Digital Feature Now Available for Insiders, Delisted Games Work - News
by William D'Angelo , posted 1 day ago / 1,747 ViewsXbox has officially rolled out its disc-to-digital feature for Xbox Insiders.
Xbox Insiders can claim a digital entitlement by inserting a supported disc into an Xbox One or Xbox Series X console and launching the game. Once the entitlement is claimed, you can experience the benefits of digital, including Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming where supported, while your physical disc continues to work exactly as it always has.
There are thousands of titles that support the disc-to-digital feature. This even includes games that have been delisted digitally, according to players who have tested it. There is no official list of games from Xbox, however, players have been working on their own list.

Delisted games that have been tested to work includes Deadpool, F1 2021, Minecraft: Story Mode, Rock Band 4, and Titanfall.
More games will be added to support disc-to-digital feature over time. Publisher do need to opt in and it appears Ubisoft and Square Enix games are currently unsupported.

Still better than what Sony's doing.
If digital ownership was actually a thing I wouldn't be so angry about developers abandoning physical games.
Speak for yourself. It's all the same bullshit in the end. Discs are going and no one being completely honest about what ownership means.
Ownership means being able to pay for your games one time and then being playable forever, as opposed to with Sony, who delete your entire digital games library.
Update: I was able to switch my insider option from Omega to Delta. And it was at the right time as both Omega and Delta were getting the update. And wow this is really cool. I added several disc games to my digital library. And they were ones not already in game pass. I even did a test when my son could play a game on his xbox (where my profile also exists) and he was able to play it using his profile.
Little out of the loop on this. Have they mentioned if there are any guarantees to the digital ownership? Or does this have the same vulnerability to being revoked/delisted as current digital purchases?
People have asked this, but Im not sure they even know what it is they are asking. I mean like any physical disc, if you give it to another person, now they are in control of it. Digital licensing is the exact same thing. If you give the disc to another person, the digital license goes with it. So the copy you have installed will become unplayable, unless you opt to spring for a different digital license.
As for the possibility of revoking, well given that even the parent companies are often times forced to remove access to something they themselves had the license for... nothing is absolute. If a digital license becomes revoked due to the parent company having to pull it... then the digital copy will no longer work, but the disc copy will still work once inserted.
Sadly my insider status was not high enough to partake in this. you have to be in Alpha, Alpha Skip ahead or Beta... and Im only in Omega. My XP wasn't high enough to level up, so l still get this only a couple days before public.
