Xbox has partnered with Mattel's Brick Shop, which is similar to Lego, to release a recreation of the original Xbox in celebration of the 25th anniversary later this year.

The original Xbox set is a 1:1 scale and will launch in October for $330 / £295. It includes 3,512 pieces, a recreation of the original Xbox and Duke controller. It also includes three dioramas for Halo: Combat Evolved, The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, and Psychonauts. The dioramas can be removed and showcased separately.

The recreation includes lashing lights and working buttons on the controller, which are used to activate other set pieces.

"As builders press the controller’s buttons, hidden scenes from the three games come to life with illuminated lighting effects accompanied by its corresponding in-game soundtrack," said Mattel. "Fans can also discover a hidden button combination that triggers an exclusive lighting sequence."

Mattel global head of vehicles and building sets Ted Wu added, "As with every Mattel Brick Shop project, we obsessed over every detail to faithfully recreate the original Xbox console, creating a collectible build that celebrates one of gaming’s most influential consoles while rewarding fans with authentic features and hidden details to discover."

Another set based on the Warthog from Halo is also coming out. It is a 1:22 scale and will launch in October for $76 / £70.

They should just rerelease the original XBOX and Halo: CE and Halo 2 on disc for it, and a lot of us would buy.
