Control Resonant Goes Gold, Physical Version Delayed - News

Remedy Entertainment has announced the action-adventure RPG, Control Resonant, has gone gold. This means the game is now being pressed onto discs for retails and prepared for digital release.
The studio has also announced the release date for the physical edition has been delayed to October 15.
Control Resonant will launch for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store on September 24.
"Control Resonant has gone gold!" said Remedy.
"Get ready to unleash Dylan Faden's paranatural abilities on September 24th. The physical release date for the game has moved October 15th. We need more time to deliver the physical version to you, but rest assured - nothing stays contained forever."

Good news for going Gold. Delaying the physical release outside the release window when more units are sold is a deliverate move that I don't like.
I hate to admit this, but yeah, this does seem deliberate. It seems that it takes a game weeks to ship a physical release from the moment it goes gold, not two months. With at least early GTA V copies being just download codes too, I don't see what could possibly cause this to require about two months - with the possible exception of Remedy's inexperience, because apparently they're self-publishing, but how hard could that be?
If the trade-off is that the game just runs well off the disc without a day one patch, I think this is actually worth it. Not that it is the case here, that I don’t know about.
I guess that's one possibility, but if that's the case, they're definitely cutting it very close if they need to delay the physical release so much.
My physical preorder arriving later, is a dick move....
I was on the fence on whether to get it and launch and pay extra for the dlc...
Now I'm just waiting for the all included release in 12 months or so.
Delayed physical is a trend I'm not happy about. Lets us at least have our final physical games on time
