Chaos Manufacturing has announced "samurai space opera" single-player third-person action RPG, SOL Shogunate, for consoles and PC via Steam. It will launch in 2027.
"With our debut SOL Shogunate, we’re realizing our vision for the first samurai space opera, which brings fluid, spectacle-driven combat to a sci-fi universe that pays homage to the majesty of feudal Japanese tradition," said Chaos Manufacturing CEO Guy Costantini. "We’re fusing combat, story, and music into an experience that we hope players will find thrilling, emotional, and unforgettable."

SOL Shogunate is a "samurai space opera" that invites players to an alt-future version of our solar system where the way of the sword is law. In this single-player third-person action RPG, humanity has spread across the planets under the dominion of a Shogunate whose grip on power is about to be challenged. Take on the role of Yuzuki, the shattered heir of a once-powerful samurai family massacred by a rival clan, as you transform into an outlaw ronin and set out on a pulse-pounding, blood-soaked path of retribution.
